Striker Sport Entertainment CEO has put his best agents
Shaw & Cassidy together to sign the up and coming
football star Denver Rockford. The agents who signs the
superstar is rewarded the open partnership position as a
bonus.
Sports Agent, Shaw Matthews plays to win and he intents
to snag the coveted partnership at San Diego's hottest
sports agency. Fellow Sports Agent, Cassidy Whalen has
worked hard to make a name for herself in a man's arena.
Shaw & Cassidy are the best of the best, but have never
been going head to head for the same client. To say
that there is no love lost between them is a huge
understatement. Both of them share the same
secret.....they fantasize about the other.
Shaw believes that he has what is takes to beat Cassidy
and get the partnership promotion. When meeting with
Rockford and his family, Shaw realizes that he has
seriously underestimated Cassidy, as she embraces
Rockford's mother like a long lost friend of the family.
However, the more Shaw has of Cassidy, he can't seem to
get her out of his system. His craving for her only gets
more intense and his feelings begins to grow. Knowing he
can't afford to lose the partnership, his focus begins to
slip and cloud his judgement....which lands him and
Rockford in a Las Vegas jail and a lot of bad publicity.
Instead of calling someone to bail him out, he calls
Cassidy.
Out of jail, Shaw continues his plan to seduce Cassidy
and getting Rockford to sign on with him and his plan for
more money. However, Rockford has an idea of what he
wants and needs in his future. When Rockford announces
his plans for the agent he sees himself working with,
Cassidy gets an emergency call from home that has her
leaving the sports entertainment business & friends
behind without any real explanations or when or if she
will be back.
When Shaw hears of Cassidy's drop and run, his only
instinct is tyo chase her down. But how far will he go to
find her to talk to her.....apparently that's 3,000 miles
away. And that is where it leaves off.
Author C. L. Parker knows how to leave the reader wanting
more! I loved this story! C.L. Parker puts so much into
her writing, that her novels don't need any fillers
included. Mrs. Parker writes intense storylines that
anyone can relate to. Her characters are complex, with
long and sometimes turbulent pasts that they have
overcome, that still continues to affect their present.
I loved A Million Guilty Pleasure and A Million Guilty
Secrets. I was excited to get a chance to review
something new from C. L. Parker and I wasn't
disappointed! C. L. Parker will continue to be one of my
favorite authors. I love her writing style. I can not
wait to see where she takes this new series when Book two
is released in November of 2015.
