Ana had remade herself as a warrior, fighting for justice
against the human ruler, Edward. She has kept her past
hidden from even her closest associates. Unfortunately,
Ana is now face to face with her past when the assassin,
Cade, recognizes her for who she really is- a princess
and heir to the Phoenix Territory. Will Ana be able to
convince Cade of Edward's deadly deceit and secret
attacks on supernaturals?
ASHES is the first book in the Divided Kingdom
series and I love that it centers around a Phoenix!
Sophie H. Morgan introduces readers to some of the
various paranormal creatures who populate her world and I
can't wait to see what surprises await us in future
books.
The romance in ASHES is hot and heavy but with a good
solid dose of realism. Sophie H. Morgan's characters
struggle with the concept of love as both Ana and Cade
have faced horrible personal losses. I also like the fact
that Sophie H. Morgan doesn't overlook the very obvious
differences in their societal roles but instead
incorporates it into the storyline.
ASHES is an action-packed fantasy romance that will keep
your heart on edge. I hope we get to see the secondary
characters get their own happily-ever-afters in future
books as I look forward to visiting both the world and
the characters again. ASHES is a great introduction to
the Divided Kingdom series as fantasy romance fans
will appreciate Sophie H. Morgan's world.
Secrets can burn. The Divided Kingdom, Book 1 Reared from birth to rule the Phoenix territory, Ana fled her future and her past when her parents were murdered. Now she secretly leads a rebellion to stop the human ruler, Edward, from experimenting on supernaturals. But first they must get beyond their past, or the whole kingdom could go up in smoke. Warning: Contains incendiary sex between a phoenix princess with a secret identity, and a jackal shifter who can take a lot of heat. Boys from the “hood”, a king jacked up on enhanced DNA, and killer heels. Anybody got a match?
