Meg has worked all summer to become a better adventure
reporter but nothing will prepare her for a sudden
snowstorm in the Cascades. Everything is beautiful when
she leaves Portland but a sudden snowstorm turns the
meeting she is set to cover much more complicated.
A man who made a fortune in Silicon Valley is determined
to start a business which will help people reach their
goals of climbing the highest mountains even if they are
out of shape. He's hired the entire climbing club that
Meg worked with all summer.
Their meeting at Silcox Hut is to practice their winter
survival skills and to cement the business plans. Ben
Tyler and his attitude has put everyone on edge. He
feels that his money entitles him to whatever he wants.
After a disagreement, he stomps out into the storm.
Meg makes the bad decision to go outside and nearly gets
lost in the storm . When she finds Ben's body, the whole
group focus changes. Clint, the oldest of the Ridge
Rangers is determined to keep things going.
As tensions mount, Meg will put herself into danger as
she seeks to identify the killer.
SLAYED ON THE SLOPES is the second book by Ms. Dyer-
Seeley that features Meg Reed, the bumbling yet intrepid
reporter. It's impossible not to laugh as you read about
the misadventures of Meg. Someone who is hopeless at the
events she covers but who plugs along doing her best to
fit in. I'm really enjoying this series and look forward
to the next entry.
After talking her way into a job writing for Portland's
Northwest Extreme magazine, Meg Reed may now really be in
over her head. Actually, about 8,000 feet over her head. .
.
She's at Mount Hood's remote Silcox Hut, covering the the
seriously hardcore Ridge Rangers-- Oregon's elite high-
altitude rescue team--during their four-day winter
training. Sure, Meg beefed up her outdoor skills over the
summer . . . but she's still hoping to cover the event
with some hot chocolate by the cheery fireplace. Then,
during a sudden blizzard, she swears she hears gunshots.
No one stranded in the hut believes her . . . until self-
absorbed Ridge Ranger Ben Rogers is found outside in a
pool of frozen blood. Meg's now got to find this killer
quickly . . . before cabin fever does them all in!
