More than 30 years ago, a chance sighting and a
subsequent car accident changed everything for four
teenagers. Three of them survived the car accident but
death has come calling once again....
Dallas Phillips is devastated by her father's death and
refuses to believe the initial cause of death; her father
wasn't suicidal and she intends to prove it. Coming home
has resurrected a lot of memories for Dallas, but none so
bittersweet as once again seeing her longtime love and
the man she left behind, Trey Jakes. Trey is now the
police chief and willing to help Dallas in any way he
can. Meanwhile, Trey's mother, Betsy, is beginning to
have flashes of memory from that deadly night so many
years ago. Danger lurks around every corner in the
mountains. Will Dallas and Trey take this second chance
at love?
WILD HEARTS is the first book in Sharon Sala's Secrets
and Lies series and contains two storylines, one
ongoing storyline about the killer and the more immediate
story of Trey and Dallas. Clues are dropped about the
killer and I can't wait to see how Sharon Sala resolves
this scenario!
However, it is the love of Trey and Dallas that warms my
heart and makes WILD HEARTS such a beautiful, moving
tale. Sharon Sala puts just the right romantic touches
into each one of their interactions, and my heart melted
just a bit with the chocolate scene in particular. The
setting of Mystic is perfect for their love and I'm
excited we will get to visit Mystic once again.
Sharon Sala demonstrates yet again her masterful skill at
crafting beautiful, warm romantic suspense stories with
WILD HEARTS. The emotional intensity of WILD HEARTS is
part of the allure as Sharon Sala doesn't shirk away from
addressing real world issues. Sharon Sala is one of the
best in the genre and I highly recommend WILD HEARTS!
