Sebastian Addison, as the Earl of Claybrook, is always controlled, in charge and protector of his family. This determined and steadfast demeanour also helps him in his other pursuits - as an eminent spy for the English Crown. There was only one instance when he had let his guard down and that was when he had shared three glorious days with Contessa Gabrielle Marciano. She had made his heart beat like no other, but when a new mission called, he had walked away from her, like he felt he must.
Now, seven months later, Sebastian's next mission involves him having a female partner, none other than Gabrielle. For Gabrielle has worked as an agent for the Crown, since a young girl. Surprised, angry and instantly aroused by her, Sebastian refuses to work with her. But as a Jacobite plot seems to be stirring, they understand the necessity in a partnership, and they reach a tentative truce.
When danger strikes and Gabrielle is injured, Sebastian cannot hide his feelings for her any longer. But Gabrielle understands that an Earl could never marry someone like her, with such a dubious history. As love and passion erupts between them, they fight to keep control of their hearts. But as the threat to the Crown, closes around them, will Sebastian and Gabrielle survive this mission? And can their deep love find a way to be together?
I love SEBASTIAN'S LADY SPY by Sharon Cullen. This Regency romance has it all - danger, blackmail, passion, love, and characters that draw you in and leave you wanting more. The character of Gabrielle is independent and strong, regardless of the rough start she received, and I longed for her to experience a deserving love, with Sebastian. As a spy, Sebastian is so hard and unflappable, so it was fun to see that hard shell crack, and let love in. SEBASTIAN'S LADY SPY by Sharon Cullen left me wanting more from this wonderful author.
Seduction abounds in Sharon Cullen’s steamy historical
romance! For the Crown’s top agents, love is a hazard best
avoided—until an unforgettable affair exposes their
undercover hearts.
Sebastian Addison has a powerful secret. To society he is
the Earl of Claybrook, the patriarch who raised his
siblings
after the death of their parents. But to the king,
Sebastian
is Britain’s top spy—a position that has taken an
emotional
toll on him. Contessa Gabrielle Marciano has also been
living a lie, her title a cover devised by the Office of
Intelligence. The femme fatale was plucked from a life of
crime and prostitution and trained to restrain her
passionate nature. Until she meets the earl.
For three deeply sensual days and nights, Sebastian and
Gabrielle drop their masks, indulging in pleasures that
seem
too good to be true. Then the lovers go their separate
ways.
Seven months later they reunite when inside sources report
that an English aristocrat has been aiding France in a
plot
to topple the Crown. Their objective: to find the
turncoat.
Their greatest challenge: to keep their wild, wounded
hearts
from derailing a mission of life and death.
