The Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens has been a
massive success
amongst New Adult readers. THOUGHTFUL is the retelling of
the romance
through Kellan Kyle's eyes.
Kellan is a rock star. With his good looks and brooding
personality, he has
everything that women love in the unattainable man.
Stephens naturally
plays this book in the beginning of the book where we see
Kellan engage in
meaningless sex with women. However, there's also a heady
dose of angst
that lines this book. Kellan's personal life has never
been quite good and
thus, he is an empty shell of a man, trying to find
happiness in any place he
can.
When he offers a friend a place to stay, he doesn't expect
his friend's
girlfriend to catch his attention the way it has. It spurs
on a forbidden
romance that is controversial that suddenly becomes
everything Kellan has
been looking for. But given the way they met, it is a
delicate matter and
someone is bound to get hurt.
What I liked about THOUGHTFUL is how Stephens approached a
very delicate
matter that you don't see in romance novels often. For
some, it's
inexcusable. But the broken-hearted theme that is
sprinkled throughout
makes you feel as if this is the only good thing that has
happened to Kellan
for some time. Miraculously, this book worked for me.
THOUGHTFUL will
definitely break your heart.
One thing I will say is that THOUGHTFUL is quite wordy. At
560 pages, Stephens
doesn't tone down any emotion so readers may find this
book too heavy. But
if you can get on board with Stephen's writing style, this
book will take you
away.
In Thoughtless, Kiera told her story. Now it's time to hear
from the sexy rock star who captivated us all . . .
THOUGHTFUL
The only place Kellan Kyle has ever felt at home is onstage.
Gripping his guitar in a darkened bar, he can forget his
painful past. These days his life revolves around three
things: music, his bandmates, and hot hookups. Until one
woman changes everything . . .
Kiera is the kind of girl Kellan has no business
wanting-smart, sweet, and dating his best friend. Certain he
could never be worthy of her love, he hides his growing
attraction . . . until Kiera's own tormented heart hints
that his feelings might not be one-sided. Now, no matter the
consequences, Kellan is sure of one thing-he won't let Kiera
go without a fight.
