Romance Contemporary

Twenty-eight-year-old Grace Dillon loves her life and small flower shop, Pretty Petals, in Thunder Point, Oregon. What she hasn't revealed to anyone is that she is daughter to the wealthy heiress Winnie Dillon Banks who has pushed her child to become the 2010 Olympics Gold Medal star. Grace is actually Isabella Grace Dillon Banks, known as "Izzy", the fourteen- year-old spoiled child whose mother's money could buy her the gold medal. So not true! Grace practiced round the clock, privately tutored, and was confined with no social life or friends.

Finally having had enough, Grace wins the medal for her mother at twenty-three and announces her retirement, causing her estrangement from her driven mother. Staying with former staff of Winnie's now proprietors of a flower shop in Portland, she learns her trade and love of flowers. Buying Pretty Petals has gained her many close friends, all unaware of her fame. Falling in love with the high school history teacher, Troy Headley, Grace is experiencing her very first boyfriend and lover. When she is forced to reveal her past fame and financial status, things become sticky. Learning her mother has ALS and dying, plus revealing the enormous extent of their wealth as well as the shocking surprise she reveals to Troy, what she thought might be her happy future with Troy is now in jeopardy.

I have read many of ROBYN CARR'S novels and am just as impressed with each new one. She has an uncanny gift for creating new and refreshing plots and characters in each tale, keeping them original, exciting and emotional. I love her novels so much that I keep posted in advance of all upcoming releases. ONE WISH is an emotional but beautiful read! A must for that "remembered" novel.

SUMMARY

#1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr delivers another smart, funny, emotional novel about the complexities of life in the small Oregon town of Thunder Point

Grace Dillon was a champion figure skater until she moved to Thunder Point to escape the ruthless world of fame and competition. And though she's proud of the quiet, self-sufficient life she's created running a successful flower shop, she knows something is missing. Her life could use a little excitement.

In a community where there are few eligible singles, high school teacher Troy Headly appoints himself Grace's fun coach. When he suggests a little companionship with no strings attached, Grace is eager to take him up on his offer, and the two enjoy…getting to know each other.

But things get complicated when Grace's past catches up with her, and she knows that's not what Troy signed up for. Faced with losing her, Troy realizes Grace is more than just a friend with benefits. He's determined to help her fight for the life she always wished for but never believed she could have—and maybe they can find real love along the way.
