Jenna has moved back to her home town to help out her Aunt
Vera run the local bookstore. A big event is coming up,
the annual Grill Fest. Everyone one in town of course
wants to enter their recipe in the contest.
As everyone is running around getting all their
ingredients
together, one of the contestants is found dead. Who would
have killed Natalie? Could it be just because in all the
previous years she always came out the winner?
Jenna know she should keep her nose out of police
business,
but she can't stand by and watch one of her friends take
the
blame for this murder.
Daryl Wood Gerber writes a very funny book. She brings
out the
best and the worst in the main character Jenna. I really
enjoyed INHERIT THE WORD. For those of you who like
recipes,
that are several at the end of the book. I for one am
always interested in trying out new recipes.
Have read one other book by Daryl Wood Gerber, and enjoyed
that book as much as I did INHERIT THE WORD.
When tempers get too hot to handle, someone's bound to
get grilled.
Jenna Hart moved back to Crystal Cove, California,
with
the intention to relax and help her aunt, Vera, run the
local culinary bookshop and café. But it's hard to follow
a
simple recipe for relaxation when murder gets thrown in
the
mix...
The Cookbook Nook is set to host the town's upcoming
Grill Fest, a tasty tradition which pits local amateur
chefs
against one another to concoct the most delicious dishes.
This year's challenge: Grilled Cheese. But with competing
chefs bearing grudges from past years, more mouths are
running off than salivating.
The expression "too many cooks" proves all too true
when
the eight–time champ is found murdered in the alley
behind the café. Soon a local diner owner (and Jenna's
"second mother") is suspected of bumping off the
competition, and Jenna has to douse the flames before the
wrong person gets burned...
