This read is delicious! It is tasty! It is a nautical
romance set aboard the Ocean's Essence, a gigantic luxury
cruise ship leaving Ft. Lauderdale and sailing to Bermuda.
Keira Graham, event planner, has been given her chance to
build up her events business in a sparkling manner.
Alexander
Sanford, CEO of the largest international food
conglomerate,
SanFoods, has hired her to coordinate an event on a
cruise
ship. SanFoods was sponsoring a specialty cruise for food
lovers. Mr. Sanford had been a guest at the Groveston
wedding, planned by Keira. The wedding theme was "Around
the
World". He was impressed and thought Keira would be
perfect
to plan his event.
Besides being given her own stateroom, Mr. Sanford gave
her
the perks of bringing along her family, her BFF and her
family. That was "the icing on the cake" and Keira was
ready
to set sail and show her talents in event planning.
Her best friend, Alexandria DAgostino, a very popular
chef,
recruits famous chefs who will offer classes to foodies,
while
having fun in the sun out on the ocean. Alex and her
D'agostino clan including her sweet husband, Cam, were
endearing characters. I particularly liked Father Damian
and
the sassy assistant to Keira, Flirty Gerty Juliet.
An interesting sub-plot concerns Maeve Graham, the sixty-
going
on-thirty widowed mom who has a young boy friend, Russ,
who
comes along for the trip and surprises Keira big time.
Cruise Director, blue-eyed Brennan McAllister, handsome,
charming and fun.....everyone loves him. The chemistry
between Brennan and Keira is potent and poses the
question...is there such a thing as love at first sight?
Barbara Oliverio presented an appetizing story about
finding
love, understanding family, life aboard a luxury cruise
ship,
with a cast of lovable and hilarious characters. The
ending was pure joy. I loved, loved, loved LOVE ON THE
LIDO
DECK. Ms. Oliverio carefully placed all the ingredients
together for a yummy contemporary romcom that you will
enjoy.
The recipes following the last page are an extra added
attraction. Sail away and enjoy the love, cooking, love,
food, and more love. It's a great recipe.
Sharp-witted, always-organized Keira Graham has traded in
her high tech career as a systems analyst for the
whirlwind world of event planning. As she builds up her
fledging business, she learns that her widowed mother has
news of her own -- a serious gentleman caller! Is Keira
ready for mom's new romance?
When she gets a game-changing
opportunity to organize a major event on a luxury
Caribbean cruise, Keira turns to best pal chef Alexandria
D'Agostino to help recruit famous chefs who will offer
classes for foodies looking for fun in the sun as they
gain cooking know-how. The cruise becomes a rollicking
adventure for Keira, her sassy assistant Juliet, the
entire D'Agostino clan, Keira's mother and other surprise
guests.
And has Keira meet her match in charismatic Cruise
Director Brennan McAllister, who could have something more
than keeping everything shipshape on his mind? Filled with
wit, charm, and a few recipes along the way, Love on the
Lido Deck brings characters to life with laugh-out-loud
situations, crisp dialog and sweet romance on the high
seas.
