Romance Contemporary

Stopping at an ATM machine Gina Thompson, a school teacher, is waylaid by an ad taped to the inside wall. A kerosene heater is exactly what she needs. This has been an extremely cold winter in Huntsville, Alabama and Gina's home is old, drafty and cold with her present system. The kerosene heater would keep her cozy. With this in mind, her phone call is answered by Mr. Johann Glibmann and a meeting arranged. What she doesn't suspect is that the cunning old man is really seeking a wife for his nephew, Kenneth Armstrong, the only living member of his German family, but yes, he really does have a heater for sale.

Both Gina and Kenneth have experienced miserable and disappointing relationships and are sworn off involvements. But of course, at first glance at each other, there is definitely something there on both sides. The gorgeous woman and the handsome man with the startling violet/blue eyes are stricken. Kenneth works for Marshall Space Flight Center (NASA) and Gina teaches astronomy at Grissom High School, which plays right into the scheme of things. Gina's students can profit by Ken's help in researching for their special school projects. Thus begins their attraction while each tries desperately to ward off becoming attached. The daydreams and nightmares of the knight in the black shining armor that resembles a photo in Ken's apartment, keeps Gina unsettled and rethinking her choices involving Ken. An interfering older sister, Janice, and twin brother, Andy, push just too far and threaten their objective at finding their sister a forever mate.

THIS JUST IN is the first novel I have had the pleasure of reading by Kathryn Scarborough, but have to say she certainly has the imagination to develop an interesting read. The two characters have both been stung by love and do not appreciate the interference by their family, pushing them towards another disappointment. THIS JUST IN is amusing and certainly keeps you on your toes just keeping up with her daydreams and self- conversations. I would like to read more tales from Kathryn Scarborough in the future and will strive to search for them.

SUMMARY

Science teacher Gina Thompson is as pragmatic and level headed as the next person except for the perpetual TV announcer that lives in her head and comments on everything she thinks. Her large family drives her crazy by getting her the worst blind dates on the planet. Ken Armstrong is an astrophysicist working at NASA.

He is alone except for his grouchy old cat and his grouchy old uncle, Ken’s only family, and he likes it fine that way. Uncle Johann meets Gina and decides ‘she is the one’. Through a series of planned mishaps and an icy visit from Mother Nature these two seriously logical people discover that indeed, there is scientific proof of love at first sight.
