Running from the woman he loves after learning of her
short affair with
his brother, Owen, Casper Christiansen is going back home
to Minnesota.
His love for archeology and treasure hunting was a short-
lived diversion
while in Honduras. Always feeling as second best while
being the middle
child among his siblings, Raina Beaumont also placed him
second best as
well when she chose to sleep with Owen. Her pregnancy is
a secret until
a conversation is overheard via phone by Casper while
talking with his
sister, Grace.
Darek Christiansen has taken on the task of running
the family resort,
Evergreen Resort. Casper agrees to help with the cabins
and finds work
at Wild Harbor Trading Post. Their sister Grace is aware
of the birth of
Raina's baby and is sworn to secrecy along with Casper as
the baby
Layla is given up for adoption. Owen is not in Deep Haven
and ignorant
of the pregnancy. The one-night stand was a shot from the
hip reaction,
not driven by love from either party. Raina's heart is
with Casper, and was
crushed when he ran from her upon learning of her previous
involvement
with Owen. Looking to God and saying many prayers leads
Casper to re-
evaluate his feelings for Raina and to protect her from
her current
boyfriend. Deciding his future will be directed by God to
lead him the
direction he needs to be.
This Christian Family novel is a touching and
beautiful story of a love
of the heart for a young man and woman striving to find
themselves and
the love they both desire. ALWAYS ON MY MIND is a
beautiful story filled with hope and
faith that is captivating and powerful from page one to
the very end. I
love the feelings of hope, love, romance and the will to
live portrayed
through this fascinating and loving family. I have not
had the please of
reading any works by Susan May Warren before, but was
thoroughly impressed
and completely engrossed in the reading. ALWAYS ON MY MIND
is a good-feeling story to curl up
with.
After a failed dig in Honduras, aspiring archaeologist
Casper Christiansen heads home to Minnesota to face his
unresolved feelings for Raina Beaumont, the woman of his
dreams. But when he arrives unannounced on her doorstep,
he
receives the shock of a lifetime: Raina is pregnant with
someone else’s baby.
Heartbroken, especially when he discovers the identity of
the baby’s father, Casper tables his dreams and determines
to be dependable for once, helping his older brother,
Darek,
prepare the family resort for its grand reopening. Casper
longs to be the hero of at least one family story, but a
never-ending Deep Haven winter and costly repairs threaten
their efforts—and the future of the resort.
Worse, one of Casper’s new jobs constantly brings him into
contact with Raina, whom he can’t seem to forget. A
tentative friendship begins to heal fresh wounds, but can
they possibly overcome past mistakes and current choices
to
discover a future together?
