Dylan loves giving a voice to political causes, even though
her parents would rather her sit tight and not make a fuss.
After a protest, she lands in jail temporarily and meets
football
player, Silas Moore. Silas knows the value of hard work, but
struggles with feeling like he belongs after a lifetime of
living mostly unloved. When the two discover that they may
just be what the other needs, sparks fly, but their chemistry
may not be enough to solve the problems they've each been
running from for years.
Cora Carmack delivers another new adult hit with ALL BROKE
DOWN. Dylan and Silas are one of the most unique couples
I've ever read. Between Silas's rough past and Dylan's
suffocating parents, it seems like the two would never work
at first. As they slowly open up to each other, readers will
have a hard time not believing that the two belong together
and have more in common than ever expected. From the bedroom
to the football field, their journey together is full of
rough patches, but you can't help always hoping they find a
way to work things out.
Although Dylan's character development pales a little in
comparison to Silas's, they both have phenomenal growth. The
inclusion of previous characters in the first Rusk
University novel ALL LINED UP plays a fair role of helping
the main characters along towards their appropriate
conclusion and helps set another foundation for the next book.
Full of giggles, swoons, and a few tears, ALL BROKE DOWN
is the perfect new adult romance for readers who want
characters with realistic lives finding an unexpected
connection that they don't know what to do with. Cora
Carmack shows her diverse writing skill with these
characters while keeping her usual fan-yourself steamy
scenes and smooth prose.
Dylan fights for lost causes. Probably because she used to be one. Environmental issues, civil rights, education—you name it, she’s probably been involved in a protest. When her latest cause lands her in jail for a few hours, she meets Silas Moore. He’s in for a different kind of fighting. And though he’s arrogant and not at all her type, she can’t help being fascinated with him. Yet another lost cause. Football and trouble are the only things that have ever come naturally to Silas. And it’s trouble that lands him in a cell next to do-gooder Dylan. He’s met girls like her before—fixers, he calls them, desperate to heal the damage and make him into their ideal boyfriend. But he doesn’t think he’s broken, and he definitely doesn’t need a girlfriend trying to change him. Until, that is, his anger issues and rash decisions threaten the only thing he really cares about, his spot on the Rusk University football team. Dylan might just be the perfect girl to help. Because Silas Moore needs some fixing after all.
