Romance Historical
In Tessa Dare's second instalment in the charming
Castles
Ever After series, Clio Whitmore has waited eight
years
for her betrothed to return to her. However, she decides
that she is done with waiting and deserves better. She
plans to break off the engagement. The only thing is, she
will need the help of Piers' brother, Rafe Brandon, a
skilled prizefighter to sign the papers that will
dissolve their marriage.
Rafe has harboured feelings for Clio ever since they were
young. He has repressed those feelings for his brother's
intended for years. Rafe is determined to make things
right and have Clio marry his brother, even if it means
having his own heart broken in the process.
Tessa Dare is truly one of the gifted writers in
Historical Romance. With her ability to make readers
laugh and cry, it amazes me how easily she can make me
fall in love with a new character. Dare possesses this
endearing quality to her writing that always has genuine
charm. Every time I pick up a Dare book, I know I'll be
transported back in time.
Within the first few pages, I knew I was going to fall
hard for Rafe. He's rough around the edges, but he's
sweet as sin too. That lethal combination will
undoubtedly cause reader's hearts to flutter. In addition
to the fabulous leads, Dare also has some quirky side
characters that steal the show. Bruiser, the dog, and
even Teddy all added to the charm and humor of the story.
I wonder if Piers will have his own story told one day.
SAY YES TO THE MARQUESS is a wonderful, uplifting story
that infuses passion, humor and love in an enticing mix,
proving once again why Tessa Dare continues to be my
favorite Historical Romance author.
SUMMARY
Your presence is requested at romantic Twill Castle for
the
wedding of Miss Clio Whitmore and . . . and . . . ? After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the
wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a wedding date,
Clio
Whitmore has had enough. She's inherited a castle, scraped
together some pride, and made plans to break her
engagement. Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter
and
notorious rake, Rafe is determined that Clio will marry
his
brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding
himself. So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride's
cold
feet? He starts with flowers. Ladies can't have too many
flowers. Or harps. Or cakes. He lets her know she'll make a beautiful, desirable
bride— and tries not to picture her as his. He doesn't kiss her. If he kisses her, he definitely doesn't kiss her
again. When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown
and
vows not to be nearby when the gown comes off. And no matter what—he doesn't fall in disastrous,
hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his
own.
