Romance Contemporary

ROMANCING THE BILLIONAIRE is Book five in the Billionaire Boys Club series by Jessica Clare. As a fan of this series, I am happy to find that ROMANCING THE BILLIONAIRE has everything I've come to expect from them -- passion, great characters, and an interesting story. Even though this book is part of a series, I think that a reader who is new to the series would still be able to enjoy it.

Dr. Phineas DeWitt was something of an aging Indiana Jones. However, Violet found that being his daughter was an extremely different experience than being one of his students or colleagues. Due to some behind-the-scenes manipulations before her father's death, Violet finds herself confronted with her former flame. I find Violet to be justifiably bitter about her relationship with her father. As the story goes on, both she and Jonathan discover all of her fathers secrets and lies. I like that the story is told from both points of view. This window into their thoughts help explain their actions in the past and help define them as characters. The treasure hunt and travel in ROMANCING THE BILLIONAIRE add a lot of interest to the story and enhance the romance.

I like that ROMANCING THE BILLIONAIRE is very much a story in which the hero pursues the heroine. This is a great story for readers who love stories in which the main characters have a complicated past. Despite hurt feelings from things that happened years ago, I'm happy that there is not a constant feeling of antagonism between Violet and Jonathan. While Violet is clearly very conflicted about her feeling for Jonathan, I love how very much he still cares for her and constantly tries to show her how he feels. The wooing he does, with a combination of physical seduction and poetry spouting, is a very erotic and a heady combination.

ROMANCING THE BILLIONAIRE is an extremely passionate tale of a love that was lost and then found. In the sea of books about billionaires, Jessica Clare's Billionaire Boys Club is a gem. I eagerly await the next installment in this series as well as any other books written by Jessica Clare.
