Welcome to the small town of Rock Canyon, Idaho. This is a
place where everyone knows everyone, rumors fly, and
gossip
runs amuck.
Meet Valerie Willis. She's one of the immoral daughters of
a reputable lawyer and politician, at least that's what
they say about her behind her back. She wasn't always
considered iniquitous, all that took was a high-profile,
messy divorce from a political prospect.
Now let me introduce Justin Silverton. He's a good ole
boy,
recently returned from his enlistment in the Marines to
come home and help with his father's failing ranch.
Val and Justin couldn't come from more different
backgrounds; her from wealth and privilege and him a back
breaking laborer of the working class. These two weren't
total strangers. One night during her teen years, Val
snuck
out of the house for a little fun. It was then that she
met
the incredibly handsome Marine that was home on leave for
a
little R&R. They shared a sweet night together, and upon
Justin dropping her off at home, her world changed
completely. Her father caught sight of Justin leaving and
became enraged. Their fathers were sworn enemies, as you
will learn the reason later in the book. The mayor packed
Val up and shipped her off to an all girls' school the
next
morning. Justin returned to active duty, neither to hear
from one another again.
Flash forward to the present. Val is reaching for a bottle
of wine in which to drown her sorrows. Her little fun
sized
self can't quite reach the top shelf, and Justin saunters
over to help her out. That little spark between them is
still there, but there's a reason that her only companion
for the last two years has been her dog. She doesn't need
anymore scandals being spread about her. Her reputation's
bad enough as it is, without fanning the flame. No matter
how attracted she is to Justin, he is completely off
limits.
Val is content to remain a hermit, but her meddling family
has other plans for her. Her controlling father blackmails
her into attending a match making retreat. While she would
prefer to remain single forever, her father has a suitor
that he wants her to connect with to bolster his own
political career. It just so happens that Justin has won a
trip to the same retreat. He didn't plan on attending, but
when he learns Val will be there, he can't refuse. He has
set his mind to winning her heart, and this is his big
opportunity. This won't be an easy feat, as trouble
abounds
at the retreat.
BAD GIRLS DON'T MARRY MARINES is filled with action and
angst. I love the character growth in Val. She's never
been
meek, but she grows as a person and learns not to let
others control her. I love how honorable and determined
Justin is. He sees what he wants and fights for it, no
matter the obstacles in his path. I have immensely
enjoyed
the two previous books in the series as well. Each one has
kept me up into the wee hours of the morning, and I can't
wait to read more. The loss of sleep is totally worth it.
Make sure you set aside some time when you start BAD GIRLS
DON'T MARRY MARINES
because you won't want to put it down.
Valerie Willis has done it all: tattoos, one-night stands,
even strip poker. And now she can add getting a messy public
divorce to that list. Back in her hometown of Rock Canyon,
Val just wants to bury her head and wait for the scandal to
pass. But when she suddenly finds herself at a singles'
weekend face-to-face with former flame Justin Silverton,
hiding from her heart—and the sexy Marine—won't be that
simple.
Is just too good to let go …
It's been ten years since Justin kissed Val, but he still
remembers the way they just seemed to … fit. Since then he's
served his country and helped his father keep their ranch
intact, but he's never forgotten Val or her wild ways. So
when a twist of fate brings him the chance to chase her
across state lines and spend a weekend winning her heart,
Justin's all in. Because when he sees something he wants, he
fights for it. And he's ready to fight for the right to call
this bad girl his one and only.
