Reading Christmas novellas gets me in the holiday spirit!
I am a huge fan of Candis Terry's Sweet, Texas
contemporary series. Each book in this series has been
unique. Sexy heroes, determined heroines and interesting
stories. I loved each book about the Wilder brothers and
their friends. SWEET COWBOY CHRISTMAS is a well-written
100- page novella with appealing characters and a
realistic
storyline.
A heart attack has forced thirty-four year old Chase
Morgan
to reexamine his life. A week after his health scare,
Chase
has been dumped by his girlfriend and an important work
project he was managing has been reassigned to a co-
worker.
Chase needs to think and plan for his future. He accepts
an
invitation from his cousin, Abby Morgan, to spend some
time
in Sweet, Texas over the holidays.
Sparks fly when Chase arrives at the Magic Box Ranch and
meets Faith Walker! Faith was not expecting her guest to
be
a tall, handsome and "sexy -as -sin" green- eyed man. And
Chase didn't expect that petite,
no -nonsense Faith was the owner of the dude ranch. Loved
the witty conversations and the realistic back and forth
banter between Chase and Faith as they got to know each
other over dinner and holiday decorating.
The novella is well- paced. I enjoyed that relationship
between Chase and Abby developed during the course of the
story. There was an immediate attraction but the
relationship was not rushed or hurried along due to the
novella format. Both Chase and Faith have a few issues to
work through in the story as they prepare for an annual
fund raising event. While in Texas, Chase has the
opportunity to reconnect with his sister and brother and
come to terms with some family issues. Faith needs to
learn
to trust her heart and put the past behind her if she
wants to move forward with Chase. I was drawn to both
characters as they faced their problems amid the
decorating, shopping and stress associated with the
holidays.
I recommend SWEET COWBOY CHRISTMAS to any one looking for
a
fabulous holiday read! Grab a cup of tea or hot chocolate
and settle in for a fabulous holiday visit to Sweet,
Texas!
Mistletoe, holly, and cowboys, oh my! Christmas in Texas
has
never been sweeter.
Years ago, Chase Morgan traded in his dusty cowboy boots
for
the shimmering lights of New York City and a fast track up
the corporate ladder. But when his shiny life is turned on
end just in time for Christmas, Chase knows he needs to
reevaluate—even if that means going home to Texas to
endure
his least favorite holiday.
When Mr. Tall, Dark, and Smoking-Hot walks through her
door
at the Magic Box Guest Ranch, Faith Walker sees just
another
handsome, rich exec looking to play cowboy for a week—at
her
expense. She's sure the grumpy-but-sexy-as-hell Scrooge
will
put a crimp in her holly jolly plans. Until a sizzling
kiss
has her seeing him in a new light.
Chase is haunted by secrets, and even though it goes
entirely against her "hands off the guests" rule, Faith is
tempted to help him leave the past behind. As the magic of
the season swirls around them, she is determined to
succeed,
because now she is certain one sweet cowboy Christmas will
never be enough.
