Ashlynne di Grechi hadn't anticipated being snowed in at
the airport in
Venice and accepting the invitation from her ex-husband,
Lorenzo di Grechi.
Being stranded in Venice on her way home to London for
Christmas is the
last thing she needed. This is a time of the year that
leaves her with deep
grieving at her two-year marriage that ended 5 years ago
and her lost
child.
Lorenzo is hot and extremely handsome standing there,
offering her a
place to stay until the planes are in the air again.
Venice holds bad
memories for her because of her failed marriage when
Lorenzo wasn't
there for her following her miscarriage at Christmas and
because of his
betrayal at the time. Her dreams were shattered and
Lorenzo didn't fight
for her even though he denied cheating with another woman.
Ashlynne
has made a new life as proprietor of The Curly Bird in
London, a saloon
caring for and selling products to people with curly and
frizzy hair.
Determined to give Ash a merry Christmas away from her
family, he's
unable to deny his still consuming love for this woman.
If only he could
get her to trust him again. T
This is the beginning of his sincere effort to
prove to Ash that he truly loves her and can be trusted
while reinforcing
the fact that he was not unfaithful to her. This could be
a disastrous time
of horrible memories for Ash or this could be the
beginning of her life
again. CHRISTMAS IN VENICE is a beautiful and emotional story in
the A Christmas Around the
World novellas. A young woman who has lost everything
has learned to
start over and become strong only to be thrown into the
emotional turmoil
of the past and the realization that she still desperately
loves the man she
married and divorced.
CHRISTMAS IN VENICE is a tale that is read quickly but
fills the soul
with renewal and passion. I have not had the opportunity
to read any of
Meadow Taylor's works before, but she knows how to keep
the story
interesting and soul bearing.
SUMMARY
Let it snow…? Wasn’t she supposed to dream of a white Christmas? Right
now, Ashlynne wishes the blizzards, ice and fog that have
left her stranded in Venice would melt away. She’s facing a
dreary holiday stuck at the airport—and she’s also run into
her ex-husband. Lorenzo di Grechi insists Ashlynne stay with him at his
sumptuous palazzo apartment. He’s also promising her
Christmas Venetian-style: eating, drinking, and visiting the
seasonal markets and musical concerts that make the city so
enchanting at this time of year. She thought she’d moved on: laid the ghosts of their
marriage which had ended so sadly and badly to rest, along
with how passionately she’d loved him. But the sexual
attraction between them is still as potent as ever, and he
seems to have changed for the better, forcing her to
question her belief that he’d cheated on her at a time when
she’d needed him most. Is this just some sort of Christmas magic at work? Or a real
chance to forgive and rediscover her love for Lorenzo?
