CHRISTMAS AT TIFFANY'S is one of those novels that a reader can fall into and leave their own life behind, visiting places in their imagination that one may not get to experience as easily in real life. Written by Karen Swan, this is one of the best novels you will read this year. Regardless of the awful circumstances that Cassie, the main character, has faced, a trip to visit three long time friends in New York, Paris, and London turns out to be a trip of a lifetime.

The synopsis of this novel is that Cassie is divorcing her husband of ten years for a good reason. Her three friends who live in three different countries try to help her heal and put her life back together by spending a few months with each of them. Her adventures lead her to do things that she never thought she could, have dreams that she never thought possible, and realize that there is love where she never thought to look.

This novel made me laugh with the colorful characters that Karen Swan gave Cassie as friends in her travels. Characters that brought out the best in Cassie and those that helped her grow when she needed them. It also made me cry when devastation rocked her world sending her the shock of a lifetime. One that I felt was worse than her failing marriage. It is so well written that I couldn't help but get emotional during those few pages. Each place took you on a tour, so to speak, with Cassie. I loved the friends she made in New York and as I was reading I dreaded her leaving to go to Paris. Things started out there differently and I wondered if I would actually like this part of the story. However, everything that happened in Paris made sense at the end when she finally ends up in London. Therefore, changing my first view about what all really happened there as well as the feelings I had for her friend, Anouk.

CHRISTMAS AT TIFFANY'S by Karen Swan, is a must read this holiday season if you are looking for the Christmas novel that will leave you in awe for days to come. You will laugh and cry as you experience one year in the eyes of the main character and maybe learn a little something new about yourself too.

SUMMARY

What do you do when the man you pledged your life to breaks your heart and shatters your dreams? You pack your bags and travel the big, wide world to find your destiny—and your true love . . .

Ten years ago, a young and naïve Cassie married her first serious boyfriend, believing he would be with her forever. Now her marriage is in tatters and Cassie has no career or home of her own. Though she feels betrayed and confused, Cassie isn't giving up. She's going to take control of her life. But first she has to find out where she belongs . . . and who she wants to be.

Over the course of one year, Cassie leaves her sheltered life in rural Scotland to stay with her best friends living in the most glamorous cities in the world: New York, Paris, and London. Exchanging comfort food and mousy hair for a low-carb diet and a gorgeous new look, Cassie tries each city on for size as she searches for the life she's meant to have . . . and the man she's meant to love.
