Della Tsang is adjusting to life as a Reborn, a rare
second
transition that occurs for some vampires and gives them
enhanced abilities. Her newly obtained bond with Chase is
impacting her relationship with her boyfriend, Steve.
Meanwhile, Della is more determined than ever to prove
herself a capable investigator for FRU (Fallen Research
Unit), a specialized FBI unit in charge of the
supernatural
community. A ghostly presence is haunting Della, leading
her
headlong into a case that may have personal implications
for
her. What will Della do when everything she knows about
her
life turns upside down?
ETERNAL is the second book in the Shadow Falls: After
Dark trilogy. While it can be read as a standalone,
the
development of the story arcs and relationships make it a
book best appreciated in the context of the series as a
whole. The trilogy is loosely connected to C.C. Hunter's
original Shadow Falls series as well but it is not
necessary to have read the prior series as the story arcs
are new for this trilogy.
The relationships start to get quite complicated in
ETERNAL!
Not only do we have the love triangle between Della,
Steve,
and Chase, but we have added complications involving
Della's
relationship with her parents as well as those of Della's
friends. Never mind the ghostly presence of Natasha and
her
relationship with Liam that confuses things quite a bit
for
Della and Chase. And Chase... if you haven't read Chase's
story in Unbreakable, stop what you are doing and
read it first as it adds so much insight into Chase's
character and enhances the emotional impact of ETERNAL.
ETERNAL is yet another spectacular book by the very
talented
C.C. Hunter. C.C. Hunter once again demonstrates that she
is a master at creating emotionally charged situations,
particularly as ETERNAL leaves us with one heck of a
cliffhanger! ETERNAL and the Shadow Falls: After
Dark series have it all- superb world building,
exceptional character development, and a plot line that
leaves you desperate for the next book in the series right
now! ETERNAL is easily recommended.
