IN BED WITH A ROGUE is Book two in Samantha Grace's
Rival
Rogues series. I don't think that it's absolutely
necessary to read the previous book in order to enjoy IN
BED WITH A ROGUE, but reading the first book in the series
does give you a slightly better understanding of Baron
Sebastian Thorne. I am so happy Samantha Grace gave
Sebastian his own story. I completely fell for him in the
previous book. Sebastian is my favorite type of hero --
the
appearance of bad boy sexiness but with a loyal and caring
heart. In this story, Sebastian meets a woman who is
similar to him in many ways.
For me, the importance of family is central to the plot of
IN BED WITH A ROGUE. I love that Sebastian and Helena are
so similar in their values and way of thinking about
family
and loyalty. Sebastian will do anything for his sister Eve
and is fiercely protective of her and his mother.
Likewise,
Helena is extremely loyal to her long-lost sisters and is
unwavering in her quest to find and protect them. This
similarity between them, added to the fact that they are
both such textured characters, makes their romance more
believable and enjoyable.
One thing I really enjoyed about IN BED WITH A ROGUE is
that there is never really any conflict between Sebastian
and Helena. The conflict and a lot of the drama come from
Helena's search for her siblings and, to a lesser extent,
the nastiness from Sebastian's former flame. Helena's
history with her first husband is fully explored and helps
the reader understand how that colored her view of
marriage
and relationships. I liked that she and Sebastian both
work
as a team to find her siblings. I love how supportive they
are of each other. Helena's defense of Sebastian and the
way he was so touched by it makes for a very sweet scene.
The chemistry between them is incredible and fun to read
about.
IN BED WITH A ROGUE is a story full of powerful emotions,
great characters, and a sexy romance. I love that Samantha
Grace showed how Helena and Sebastian developed intimacy -
-
physical intimacy as well as emotional. I look forward to
future stories in this series -- especially Eve's.
