Every time I open up a book from Sandra Hill I know I'm in
for a treat. She has
such a gift with words that she shares with her readers.
Sandra Hill breathes life into
her characters, entertains her readers, and helps them to
forget about their real-
life troubles.
When I sat down to read SNOW ON THE BAYOU I was looking for
something to take
my mind off my own worries. My great aunt had just passed
away and I was
trying to find a way to deal and accept her loss. I had no
idea that reading a
romantic comedy would help me process, mourn, and accept the
loss. SNOW ON THE BAYOU touches on so many issues that we
deal with in our own lives every
day... this story just has a wacky, old lady and steaming
hot Navy SEALS thrown
in!!
One of the best aspects of this story is that Sandra Hill
does a little character
crossover with her most well known book series. Tante Lulu,
the eccentric and
nosy 90 something year old woman from the Bayou shows up at
the Navy SEALS
base to drag Justin "Cage" LeBlanc home to take care of his
ailing Maw Maw, or
grandmother. Cage also made quite a few appearances in
Hill's other famous
series, the hilarious and gorgeous time traveling vikings.
SNOW ON THE BAYOU is filled with love, forgiveness, and
accepting life for what it is and the
fact that we can't always change our lives but we can be
grateful for what life has
to offer us. SNOW ON THE BAYOU was a blessing to me during a
dark time and
helped me see that everything and everyone in my life is a
blessing. How many
books have you read that could do that? Thank you Sandra
Hill for sharing your
stories with us! Thank you for making us laugh and cry
through the good times
and the bad!
Joining the Navy was the second best thing that ever
happened to Justin "Cage" LeBlanc, the rebel son of a no-
account convict. The first was Emelie Gaudet, the love of
his life . . . until he was forced to leave town and swore
there would be snow on the bayou before he ever returned.
Now, only his mortally ill grandma can bring the injured
Navy SEAL back to Terrebone Parrish, where he must face his
past-and Emelie, who's even more beautiful than she was all
those years ago.
Bourbon Street blues singer Emelie is once bitten, twice
shy. When she learns that Justin is back in town, she wants
nothing to do with the once wild Cajun teenager who fled
with the law on his tail-and broke her heart. But she can't
deny the red-hot attraction between them . . . or his
efforts to prove he's finally changed his hell-raising ways.
Can she trust that this time the bad boy of the bayou will
be the best man for her?
