ANIMAL ATTRACTION is Book one in Paige Tyler's Alaskan
Werewolves series. All the good guys in ANIMAL
ATTRACTION
are extremely likable and that contributed greatly to my
overall enjoyment of this story. I always worry, with books
that have a reporter main character, that the character
will be too obnoxious in his or her pursuit of a story.
Happily that was not the case with ANIMAL ATTRACTION. Eliza
Bradley
is very easy to relate to and while she is eager to prove
herself as a reporter, she is considerate of others and
respects her environment. Likewise, Hunter McCall - hero,
werewolf, and college professor cutie - is a very nice guy.
I like the integrity displayed by Eliza in this story. She
starts out hunting down a story she doesn't believe is
true -- that there is an actual werewolf stalking Fairbanks,
Alaska -- but she tries to do right by her editor and
everybody counting on her. It would be easy to just make
something up and collect a paycheck, but she takes the time
to investigate Nate's werewolf claims, rather than just
blow him off as a crazy person. I also love Hunter. Even
though he is a strong Alpha werewolf, he's not simply an
overly-aggressive, act first think later, kind of a guy.
Instead, he's smart, sexy, and couldn't be sweeter to Eliza.
Throughout the story, there are snippets from the point of
view of the unnamed murdering rogue werewolf. No clue is
really given to his identity until the surprise reveal
at the end. I liked this tactic the author decided to take,
and it keeps the momentum going and the intense feeling of
suspense. Even though there is a lot of action in ANIMAL
ATTRACTION, the romance is just as strong. The chemistry
between Eliza and Hunter is off the charts, and the sexy
scenes between them are smoking hot.
ANIMAL ATTRACTION is a wildly entertaining and super
exciting paranormal romance with equal parts action,
mystery, and sexiness. Though this is the first book I've
read by author Paige Tyler, I look forward to reading
future books in this Alaskan Werewolves series.
Not only are werewolves real, but they're damn hunky, too.
Frustrated when none of the real newspapers will hire her as
a reporter, Eliza Bradley takes the only job she can get—at
a paranormal magazine. Her first assignment takes her to
Fairbanks, Alaska to investigate the rumors that a werewolf
has killed two local men.
When she meets Hunter McCall, a local college professor and
an expert on wolves, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to
him and ends up spending more time in his bed than worrying
about werewolves. That’s when Eliza finds out Hunter isn’t
just an animal in the sack, he’s an animal out of it, too—of
the werewolf variety. Talk about a complicated relationship.
But Eliza can’t dwell on Hunter’s little shapeshifting
issues for long. There’s another werewolf out there with a
taste for human blood, and she and Hunter are the only ones
who can stop him. If they don’t, they’re likely to become
his next victims.
