The band Synergy is still in trouble ... they don't have a
lead singer since Nick Blackthorne retired and can't seem
to find just the right guy to fill the spot. If they don't
find someone they lose out on a fantastic gig and it will
be the end of them. They will no longer be GETTING PLAYED.
Jaxon Campbell, keyboardist and player decides it is time
to do something he never thought he would do again. He
knows someone who has contacts in the music world, and he
knows she will know just the right person for them.
Unfortunately, the last time he saw Natalie Thorton he broke
her heart and worse stole her autographed AC/DC album.
Natalie is the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music
and has completely gotten over her thing for Jaxon. She is
a professional ... until he walks back into her life. They
want something from each other; he a musician perfect for
his band and she ... well, she wants him.
GETTING PLAYED is a quick paced, witty and sexy story that
has a very intriguing twist at the end. Jaxon is the
epitome of what everyone thinks a rocker is, and the first
pages might even have you laughing at his antics, while
Natalie comes off as snotty and uptight. At first glance
you cannot see how it is possible they could ever be
attracted to each other, until author Lexxie Couper allows
the reader to see the vulnerability when it comes to each
other. The ending is very good with a twist that only Ms.
Couper could have come up with, though I think anyone who
has followed her Heart of Fame series will certainly
find it an intriguing surprise. Heart of Fame is a
good series, and I can't wait to see what else Lexxie Couper
comes up with in the future.
After yet another month without a lead singer, the band
Synergy is on the verge of calling it quits. Which drives
Jaxon Campbell, keyboardist and perpetual player, to do
something dangerous—hit up a woman with contacts—and
curves—in all the right places. Trouble is, the last time he
saw her, he kind of broke her heart. And stole her
cherished, autographed AC/DC album.
Natalie Thorton, Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music,
knows everyone who’s anyone in Australia’s music industry.
She’s driven and utterly professional and doesn’t have room
in her schedule for relationships.
When Jaxon strides into her office, all of Natalie’s
suppressed sexual urges—the ones born in Jax’s arms—surge to
the surface. He wants something from her? Well, she wants
something from him. Orgasms. Lots of them.
How can Jax say no? He’s never forgotten her, and it’s not
like they’re going to fall in love. But just who’s playing
who? And whose heart is going to fall first?
Warning: Contains a sexual challenge involving sex in public
places, sex in private places, sex in moving cars, sex
against windows and sex in the company of an oblivious
federal politician. So basically, we’re talking about
getting laid. A lot.
