The CIA wants Court Gentry (aka "The Gray Man") dead, no
matter what it takes. For the last five years, Court has
worked as an expatriate assassin for hire. This time,
however, Court finds himself on the wrong end of business as
the CIA has sent a man just like himself after Court. Who
will win when the Gray Man faces the assassin known as DEAD
EYE?
DEAD EYE is the fourth book in Mark Greaney's Court
Gentry series but can easily be read as a standalone.
Mark Greaney immediately immerses the reader into the
action. Tension mounts as the story unfolds, and things are
definitely not what they appear at first glance. I love how
Mark Greaney keeps the reader guessing about the underlying
motives of the characters.
DEAD EYE is political intrigue at its finest, as no one can
be trusted and everyone has a hidden agenda. The story
starts off a bit technical as the action is filled with lots
of military terminology. However, DEAD EYE quickly turns
into a first rate thriller as the political tensions heat
up. With the CIA, the Mossad, private contractors, and
assassins involved--well, you know it has to be good! DEAD
EYE twists and turns with each new revelation as Mark
Greaney takes the reader on one heck of a wild ride!
Ex-CIA master assassin Court Gentry has always prided himself on his ability to disappear at will, to fly below the radar and exist in the shadows—to survive as the near-mythical Gray Man. But when he takes revenge upon a former employer who betrayed him, he exposes himself to something he’s never had to face before. A killer who is just like him. Code-named Dead Eye, Russell Whitlock is a graduate of the same ultra-secret Autonomous Asset Program that trained and once controlled Gentry. But now, Whitlock is a free agent who has been directed to terminate his fellow student of death. He knows how his target thinks, how he moves, and how he kills. And he knows the best way to do the job is to make Gentry run for his life—right up until the moment Dead Eye finally ends it…
