If you're searching for a sweet, feel-good, summer read over
flowing with
an adorable, first romance, a nice storyline, and likable
characters, then
you must read this book! FIFTEENTH SUMMER is a quick read
that
guarantees a smile on your face and will have you anxiously
flipping page
after page. This is my first time reading Michelle Dalton
and it won't be the
last. FIFTEENTH SUMMER was exactly what I was looking for
- a cute,
short read in between my heavier reads.
FIFTEENTH SUMMER is the story of a fifteen-year-old girl,
Chelsea, who is
staying with her parents and two sisters at her
grandmother's house in
Michigan for a summer vacation. She is absolutely dreading
it because
this is her first time they will be returning to her
grandmother's house
since her grandma passed away. Chelsea doesn't want to be
around the
haunting memories of her grand mother, it just hurts too
much! While
living there, she finds a new-found happiness and love in
Josh. I fell in love
with both Josh and Chelsea. First and foremost, Chelsea is a
big reader.
She meets Josh at a bookstore he works at because his
parents own
it. He feels a lot of responsibility towards the bookstore
and his parents and
that almost ruins his relationship with Chelsea. He also
helps her with a
new job at a coffee shop that is right next door.
But soon Chelsea realizes that her summer days are about to
be numbered
because she will eventually be returning home after summer.
FIFTEENTH
SUMMER is beautifully written and had me smiling from page
one to the
very last page. Dalton's writing is engaging and her talent
for story-telling is
perfect. I'm hopelessly in love with well-read, book nerd
characters. They
speak my language and I really get them . Chelsea and Josh
are those
characters. Josh scored big time brownie points for working
at a very cool
little funky bookstore. They can also make fun of books as
only bookworms
can do. What's not to love about a story like this?
FIFTEENTH SUMMER
is perfect. It's not cheesy, filled with instant love or
hard to get into. Rather,
this book is something that can be reread many times and
can be
cherished forever. Chelsea and Josh's relationship is
sweet, realistic, and
in no way overdone.
FIFTEENTH SUMMER is light and sweet; a good family summer
story and
summer romance in one, with a mix of heart break and
grieving . I thought
the setting was well done; I wish I could spend a summer in
that small
town! I enjoyed all the characters, and found all their
relationships
believable and relatable.
Love blossoms by the lake in this sweet summer romance, in the tradition of Seventeeth Summer and Sixteenth Summer. Chelsea isn’t looking forward to her summer at the lake. It’s the first time her family has been there since her grandmother died, and she can’t break out of her funk. But her summer takes a turn for the better when she meets a boy who works in the bookstore. Josh is cute, sweet, funny…and best of all, seems to like her as much as she likes him. As the days pass by in a blur of boat rides, picnics, and stolen kisses, she can’t believe how lucky she is. No one has ever made her feel so special, or so beautiful. But Chelsea knows her days with Josh are numbered. She’ll be heading home at the end of the summer—and he’ll be staying behind. Will this be Chelsea’s summer of love? Or will it be the summer of her broken heart?
