Bear Haskell works as a Pinkerton agent. He's been given
a job to protect the monies carried by stagecoach to
miners and others who await their pay. His boss wants
to see him and give him the details on his new mission, but
when Haskell sees Raven in his boss's office, he is once
again struck by her beauty. He wonders if she still feels
the same for him. Haskell can never resist a sexy woman, and
he's always open for passion on, or off, the job. If he
doesn't pay attention, he may lose he life one day.
Raven is stiff and cold towards him, until they get on the
road together. Did I mention that Raven is also working for
Pinkerton? Both Haskell and Raven have a very long, unsafe,
and passionate relationship on the ride ahead of them.
On their journey, they get word there are women leading
the gang robbing the stagecoaches. I don't want to give too
may spoilers because this was a page turner for me. Every
time I put the book down, I could not wait to pick it up and
start reading once again. Raven and Haskell settle into the
town, and they start making connections as to who may be
robbing the stagecoaches. Haskell is a pip, because every
time he sees a pretty lady, he wants to lay her down in the
hay and start lusting together! Can Raven put up with this
much longer or will she give up on Haskell?
WILD TO THE BONE by Peter Brandvold is a recommended read!
It is an edge-of-your-seat read, with great characters and
very interesting history about the old west! I look forward
to reading more of Peter Brandvold's books!
Following fast on the tail of High and Wild, this second
book in the erotic historical western Bush Riders series
offers some rough-and-tumble fun, featuring two undercover
agents who are wild for each other.
Bear Haskell, a Texan veteran of the Civil War who fought
for the Union, can’t stand that he has to work with Raven
York, a proud Yankee and wealthy heiress who went against
her family’s wishes to become an agent. But as Allan
Pinkerton’s top two undercover agents, they must set aside
their differences and learn to work together.
Tracking down killers, kidnappers, con artists, bank
robbers, and train bandits throughout the entire Wild West
isn’t easy. And constantly being at odds with each other
only fuels the tension—sexual and otherwise—between Bear and
Raven. Conflicted by their professional and ravenously
sexual personal relationship, the two decide to see other
people. But, unable to keep completely out of the way,
Raven’s path intertwines with Bear’s on a job, and together
they must navigate the often humorous muddle of temptation
against the backdrop of the late-nineteenth century West.
