I've read Bianca d'Arc's Dragon Warrior series and was
interested to see what she'd do with a science fiction
story. Her hero is again a warrior, on a distant planet
and with psychic gifts. HARRY'S SACRIFICE starts on a
snowbound mountain slope, as a specialist team uncovers a
metal object said to be the resting place of someone called
Hara.
Cormac 7 is an elite warrior and the other men jump to his
bidding. These people have left a planet called Alvia and
are attempting to make this new world their home. They'll
even live alongside humans, treating them more as pets than
people. The Alvians have already wreaked havoc on Planet
Earth while making it more appropriate for their race's
needs. They didn't intend to harm the humans living there;
it was an unfortunate side-effect. Winged warriors,
genetic manipulation and crystal resonances fill the story,
with many main characters and viewpoints introduced in the
first chapter. Roshin is a female Alvian acting as a spy
among the Earth people. She's a warrior woman herself and
she accompanies Cormac 7 into the space pod that is
revealed under the excavations. Harry, a half-human, half
Alvian man, goes with them.
For a lady who's only known the physical side of mating,
Roshin can't believe how crystals emphasise her feelings
and the arousal she can feel from the two men. Emotions
she's never felt supercharge their actions and before long
they're all three mixed up in something powerful. Harry's
loyalties are necessarily conflicted and none of them knows
where this can lead.
The story is complex and harks to four previous instalments
with several characters, as well as diving into the past
history and genetic readjustment of the newly arrived race
which was struggling for survival. A new reader might do
better to get the earlier books and read in order. HARRY'S
SACRIFICE by Bianca d'Arc is definitely a book for science-
fiction romance fans, with adult scenes including
threesomes in a loving relationship.
The prophesied time has arrived and Harry—born of an alien
mother and a human father—must journey to the top of the
world to unlock a mysterious ship found trapped in an icy
crevasse. A ship only someone of Harry’s bloodline can open.
Roshin, a young Alvian scribe, is sent to record events as
they unfold. Beneath her remote, icy beauty, Harry feels an
unwanted hum of attraction. He has always dreamed of a warm,
giving relationship with a human. Not a cold, emotionless
Alvian.
Then there’s Cormac, an Alvian officer sent to head the
expedition. When all three are trapped inside the vessel,
Harry is confronted with an unexpected dilemma—cling to his
dream of a human bond, or answer the call of fate and form a
lifelong alliance with not just one, but two aliens.
Warning: Harry’s all grown up and ready for action—with not
one but two Alvians. Theirs could be a permanent ménage
relationship that will resonate in your heart long after the
last page is turned.
