Ben Tennant isn't your everyday, ordinary psychologist.
He's the best at what he does, and he does it for the
witness protection program. He can make even the biggest
movie stars into different people. His sixth sense tells
him who to take into the program and who isn't capable of
morphing. Until he meets Patrice.
Patrice Callan was denied assistance from WITSEC by Ben's
interview, but over his better judgment, he decides to help
her start a new life. After he's finished, a sense of
regret settles over him. That is until Emile Balazs relates
a dangerous secret, one that could blow the covers of the
people Ben works to protect.
Leaving his home, Ben sets out to discover the secret
behind Patrice's betrayal. Along the way, he uncovers
disturbing information about the nature of Patrice's
safety. Finding her almost safe in New Mexico, Ben and
Patrice try to solve the puzzle in which they've
unknowingly been trapped. Now they have to find a way to
save themselves and something valuable without getting
caught. The trouble is that there's always someone
watching.
This is a great story filled with intrigue, interesting
characters and a page-turning plot. Palmer has created the
perfect blend of surprises and a story that's interesting
for all ages. I was impressed at how well-written it is,
and the main character, Ben, is interesting because of the
way he can read people. I can see this book becoming a
great movie. A phenomenal book that kept me fascinated to
the very end.
