After the big blow up of the Rabbit Hole, the Richters have
remained under the radar, but there is no doubt that they'll
return. Daire is sure of this. Daire and Dace are towards
the end of their training and possibly their lives. Daire
is basing her life on a dream she has had that predicts the
end of everything between her and Dace. With her
grandmother gone, Daire feels as though she is missing an
important piece of the puzzle. If Daire doesn't listen to
her true self and rely on her training, the Upper, Middle,
and Lower worlds will be devastated and sent into darkness.
Dace knows exactly what he needs to do to put an end to his
family and rid the town of Enchantment of the evil the
Richters have created. The beast within him is urging to
take control. The darkness is yearning to extinguish the
light. Dace knows it's coming, and he will do anything to
protect Daire from it, even if that means walking away from
her.
The Richters have begun rebuilding the Rabbit Hole, and it's
no secret how powerful they're making it. They will do
absolutely anything to keep the Richter lineage going and
that includes tourmaline gems. The same gem that killed
Daire's grandmother, Paloma. These gems not only have the
power for the Richters to control and track the receivers,
but a deeper power Daire has figured out.
When Cade leaves invitations to the Masquerade Ball at the
Rabbit Hole on her doorstep. He has also left her a mask
and a dress, which looks exactly like the one from her
dream. Now the battle has begun, Daire must see this
through, even if it means her death, in order to save those
she loves and cares about.
Told in several different viewpoints, this story is based on
love and how love can conquer all. Soul Seekers is a
series that
it is mandatory to read in order. There is so much that is
covered in each book of the series, you simply will not be
able to follow any of the others if you don't start at the
beginning. Although the series spans a period of under two
years, as readers, we get to watch the emotional whirlwind
that Daire and Dace face throughout this series. Each book
seems to tear them apart, but ultimately, they end up
finding their way back to each other.
I absolutely love this series. The characters are
wonderfully complex and the plot is entertaining. I am sad
to see the series come to an end, but the ending of HORIZON
makes me think that Alyson Noel isn't quite finished
with it. Perhaps we will see a new series based on this one
in the future.
