Suspense | Thriller
Laurie Moran's world shattered the day that her husband, Dr.
Greg Moran, was shot and killed in front of their 3 year old
son, Timmy. The masked gunman shouted that Laurie and Timmy
were next as he fled the scene never to be seen again. Even
5 years later, that doesn't stop Laurie and her father from
constantly looking over their shoulders all the time as they
try to protect Timmy and Laurie from this monster with the
blue eyes.
Now, Laurie works in the television industry producing shows
that are reality based. She has come up with an idea that
she believes will help further her career while also aiding
in providing closure to families and friends of past crime
victims. Her new show will revolve around old unsolved
criminal cases using the real people that were involved at
the time instead of actors to re-enact the events. The debut
episode will be about a 20 year old murder that happened on
the night of a Graduation Gala held for four friends that
had just graduated from four different colleges. The Gala
was a smashing success until the next morning when the
mother of one of the girls was found dead, smothered in her
bed.
Even though an extensive investigation is performed, the
murderer is never discovered and the girls that were there
that night have spent 20 years with people looking at them
suspiciously. This is a fact that Laurie uses to talk the
girls, now grown women, as well as other key players from
that night into appearing in the episode.
The killer is closer than anyone knows and there is also
another killer on the prowl hiding in plain sight. "Blue
Eyes" has returned to keep his promise of killing both
Laurie and her son.
What can anyone say about Mary Higgins Clark except that she
just keeps producing some of the most amazing stories that
any writer has ever told? I have been an enthusiastic fan of
Ms. Clark ever since her first book. She caught me in her
web of suspense and mystery and held me from that point on.
While her writing style seems to have changed somewhat
throughout the years, one thing remains a constant: she
never fails to offer a book that readers simply cannot put
down until they have reached the conclusion of it.
I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN is certainly no exception. This
book starts with a slam-dunk beginning and continues to keep
you enthralled as you try to unravel the mystery of the
identities of these two separate murderers. It is a book
that you will get lost in until the final page.
Once more, Mary Higgins Clark proves why she is consistently
at the top of the best seller list.
SUMMARY
When Laurie Moran’s husband was brutally murdered, only
three-year-old Timmy saw the face of his father’s killer.
Five years later his piercing blue eyes still haunt Timmy’s
dreams. Laurie is haunted by more—the killer’s threat to her
son as he fled the scene: “Tell your mother she’s next, then
it’s your turn . . .” Now Laurie is dealing with murder again, this time as the
producer of a true-crime, cold-case television show. The
series will launch with the twenty-year-old unsolved murder
of Betsy Powell. Betsy, a socialite, was found suffocated in
her bed after a gala celebrating the graduation of her
daughter and three friends. The sensational murder was news nationwide. Reopening the
case in its lavish setting and with the cooperation of the
surviving guests that night, Laurie is sure to have a hit on
her hands. But when the estranged friends begin filming, it
becomes clear each is hiding secrets . . . small and large. And a pair of blue eyes is watching events unfold, too . . .
