The first man she'd ever loved, Liam Declan Murphy, returns to Bellsford, New Hampshire. Cordelia "Posey" Osterhagen could never meausure up to the gorgeous Emma Tate, who ended up getting Liam. Posey's adoptive mother, Stacia, whoat six foot two and of German stature is very unlike Posey. Posey's father Mac is equally large. Posey is tiny at only 107 pounds with a pixie elf-like face and a gigantic metabolism which keeps her eating everything in sight. Her brother Henry is a surgeon and married to his gay partner Jon, who is a teacher, always giving love and complete support to Posey.

Memories of being ridiculed as a bag of bones by none other than Liam at their high school prom, Posey is still in awe of the gorgeous bad boy biker of those times even though he broke her heart. Now back in town with his 15 year old daughter Nicole in tow following Emma's death, his purpose in life is protecting his beautiful daughter at all costs.

Posey owns an architectural salvage company and chooses boots over girly clothing and heels. Liam builds custom motorcycles. Initially having no interest in Posey, Liam is intent on over-protecting Nicole but eventually becomes involved with Posey. Sex is great but he plans no involvement. Her cousin Gretchen shows up and creates such havoc, that everything is turned inside out for Posey. Giving up on the love of her life occurs just as Liam realizes what he has in Posey and what he was responsible for years ago. Now he has to find a unique way of showing what's truly in his heart and righting a long ago hurt.

Kristin Higgins definitely has a unique way of bringing the heart breaking past of a young woman to fruition of fulfillment and forever love. UNTIL THERE WAS YOU is such a quirky and cute story that captured my absolute attention. This tale could have gone on for a lot longer and I truly regretted that it had come to an end. The heartbreak and sadness is clearly felt in the character of this funny and genuinely kind young woman throughout her struggle to remain true to herself. I will remember UNTIL THERE WAS YOU with affection for some time to come.

SUMMARY

Posey Osterhagen can't complain. She owns a successful architectural salvaging company, she's surrounded by her lovable, if off-center, family and she has a boyfriend—sort of. Still, something's missing. Something tall, brooding and criminally good-looking…something like Liam Murphy. When Posey was sixteen, the bad boy of Bellsford, New Hampshire, broke her heart. But now he's back, sending Posey's traitorous schoolgirl heart into overdrive once again. She should be giving him a wide berth, but it seems fate has other ideas….
