Tallulah "Tee" Alameda is a host for the Crown Jewel Casino
in Las Vegas. She can deal with all the whims of her high
rollers and set up comps and giveaways to get them into the
casino to lose their money. Good for the casino and with a
host bonus coming up soon she plans to use that money for
the reservation school. The problem she is having isn't the
work or even the jerk she works with who wants the bonus
too ... it's Leo. She has had the hots for him for a long
time and she is ready to tell him to STOP DRAGON MY HEART
AROUND.
Leonidas Ryan is in charge of the casino while his boss is
on his honeymoon. What no one knows is the Crown Jewel is
not just a well run casino ... it's a sanctuary for dragon
shifters. Most of the employees are dragons because what
better place to hid in plain sight than in Vegas. Leo's got
a bigger problem, well two in fact, every male dragon has
to find his mate or he will lose his shifting ability and
his human side wants it to be Tee. After one heartfelt kiss
the dragon mark should have appeared on her hand, but it
didn't telling him she isn't the one.
He has to find his mate so he plans to keep away from Tee,
but when her father the Chief of the Piaute tribe asks for
help and as the only human to know the secret of his people
for a long time, Leo obligated. Secrets are dangerous
things, because one never knows how someone will react when
they come out. Tee is about to find out his secret and one
of her own that makes her question everything she has ever
believed about herself and the world she has lived in.
STOP DRAGON MY HEART AROUND is a fascinating, steamy return
to author Susannah Scotts' Vegas dragon's series.
Leo and
Tee are doing the dance that always intrigues me. She wants
him and he wants her ... he backs away and she follows,
later
he's ready to commit and she's running scared. There is a
lot going on here and Ms. Scott keeps it all running
smoothly to a very satisfying ending. The author did add
some non-stereotypical Native American touches to this book
(with a minor additional item of her own imagination that
she explains at the end.) which I found interesting. I did
get a little frustrated with Tee's reaction to Leo's secret
... though to be honest I am not sure how I would react if
the man I love told me he was a dragon and then turns into
one. I did like Leo's protective instincts and the way he
was willing to become human if he had to for her. I can't
wait to see who is next in this Vegas world, I'll be the
first in line.
