Set in the Middle Ages THE MIRACLE THIEF is the story of
three women. One is a nun, Sister Julia at the cathedral of
St. Catherine, the other is a woman Anna who has serious
physical deformities and the third is Princess Gisele.
This is a wonderful story exploring the lives of the women
and the choices they have made and must make to survive in
those times. You are struck by the difference in the way
women live now and how they lived in the Middle Ages. A
princess was destined to marry in order to make her
father's kingdom stronger. Women were driven to be nuns
when they had no place else to go. And people with physical
deformities were thought to have made God angry. This story
touches your heart as you become part of it watching as
their lives intertwine.
I really enjoyed THE MIRACLE THIEF, it made me laugh, cry
and want to help these women be true to their selves. Iris
Anthony wrote a superb story that is a romance but not in
the traditional way THE MIRACLE THIEF is so much more. It
is the story of how the choices people make really do
affect the world around them and how believing in miracles
can make them come true. THE MIRACLE THIEF is a really good
read that fans of
genera's will enjoy.
Sister Juliana
does. She's seen miracles happen as she tends Saint
Catherine's altar and guards her relic. Yet she doesn't
quite dare to believe that even Saint Catherine could help
her atone for her wicked past.
Anna does. And she so
desperately needs one. In a time when a deformity is
interpreted as evidence of a grievous sin, in a place where
community is vital to existence, Anna has no family, no
home, and no master.
Princess Gisele wants to. A
miracle is the only thing that can save her from being given
to a brutal, pagan chieftain in marriage.
For those
who come in faith, saints offer the answer to almost any
prayer. But other forces are plotting to steal Saint
Catherine's relic, to bend the saint's power to their own
use. Penitent, pilgrim, princess — all will be drawn into an
epic struggle where only faith can survive. But in a quest
for divine blessing, only the most ruthless of souls may win
the prize.
