Thriller Crime | Thriller Paranormal - Supernatural

Three friends have purchased a dilapidated house in the remote Icelandic village of Hesteyri in the Westfjords. When they arrive in the wintery off-season to start doing renovations to make it into a guesthouse, they find the village deserted and the house with no modern conveniences. Since they'll only be there for a week, they figure they can get by on what provisions they've brought along. But will they be able to survive the abnormal and eerie events that start occurring after their arrival?

At the same time, in Isafjordur, a psychologist is asked to help the police by profiling the perpetrator of a school vandalism that closely resembles one from 60 years ago. When he's then called in to investigate an elderly woman's suicide, he's shocked to find the note she left mentions his son, who disappeared three years ago. Upon further investigation, he learns the woman attended the school that was vandalized 60 years ago. Also linked to that earlier case is one of the doctor's current patients, while other students from that time have died horrible deaths. What is the connection between the 60-year-old event, his current cases and his vanished son? As he continues to piece together the clues of the past with those of the present, he finds he must suspend realistic beliefs and accept the unlikely premise of ethereal entities, which eventually leads him to the rundown house in the isolated village of Hesteyri.

Bestselling Icelandic author Yrsa Sigurdardottir surpasses her previous top-sellers with this supernatural crime thriller. The plotline of I REMEMBER YOU is meticulously devised as it progresses in a bone-chilling fashion to a riveting conclusion.

SUMMARY

In an isolated village in the Icelandic Westfjords, three friends set to work renovating a rundown house. But soon, they realize they are not as alone as they thought. Something wants them to leave, and it's making its presence felt. Meanwhile, in a town across the fjord, a young doctor investigating the suicide of an elderly woman discovers that she was obsessed with his vanished son. When the two stories collide, the terrifying truth is uncovered. In the vein of John Ajvide Lindqvist, this horrifying thriller, partly based on a true story, is the scariest novel yet from Yrsa Sigurdardottir, who has captivated the attention of readers around the world with her mystery series featuring attorney Thora Gudmundsdottir. Now, in I REMEMBER YOU, Yrsa will stun readers once again with this out-of-this-world ghost story that will leave you shivering.
