Ash McIntyre is the last of his single friends. It's not that Ash isn't happy for his friends, they deserve to find happiness but after years of sharing women with his friend Jace it's just Ash. It's not that he doesn't know what to do with a woman by himself but with Jace the women were given the whole package. They got amazing sex from two men who know how to pleasure a woman and afterwards Ash retreated to his own room and Jace did all the caretaking, snuggling and sleeping with her. Now Ash feels wanting and isn't sure of what it is he needs until he meets Josie.
Josie Carlysle seemed unimpressed with Ash at their first meeting; he had approached her while she was sketching in the park. Ash assumed like other women Josie would be enthralled with him but he noticed she was wearing a collar and figured she was taken. Ash figured he would change that, she would be his. When Josie is approached by Ash realizes she may wear a collar but she doesn't understand the significance of what it means to be a submissive. Nor is she in the type of relationship Ash could offer her.
Josie has been looking for a D/s relationship but she didn't really understand what that meant until she met Ash. Josie thought just her current relationship was what she was looking for, after all she wore his collar, but the words Ash gave her at the park call to her and she was anything but uninterested. Josie ends her so called relationship but is unsure if she can give all that Ash is asking of her. Will she give Ash the gift of her trust and submit to him? If Josie gives Ash that gift can he give himself to her wholly the dark, primal sex and the tender sweet loving moments?
BURN is the final chapter in Maya Banks' The Breathless Trilogy. Author Banks ends the trilogy with the best. BURN takes you deeper from D/s sex into the dominant/submissive lifestyle. Ash and Josie's story is tender, loving and poignant. This is the best of Maya Banks; she gives the readers the vividly explicit sex scenes that burn up the pages along with tender heart-rending moments. I highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy J.R. Ward, Jayne Rylon and Lauren Dane. To those who haven't tried the more explicit stories try this series and see what you have been missing.
Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful
men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything
they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it’s the woman who
changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and
desire...
When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has
always explored his wilder side—extreme and uncompromising.
He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like
that. Even the women he’s shared with his best friend, Jace.
But Jace is involved with a woman he has no
intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a
relationship with a woman who gives him everything he needs,
leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.
Then
Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his
wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit,
determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never
imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only
woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.
