Stephanie Grant is in New Orleans, looking for her sister.
The only thing she knew was that Tina had gone there
chasing after a boyfriend and said she was staying to
become an escort. The last she heard she had been seen at
Chez Sophia and nothing more. Now she is here pretending to
be an escort looking for her wayward sister. She has no way
of knowing she is about to live out her WILDEST DREAMS.
Jake Broussard, is a bartender at the club, and has seen it
all. He also knows there is something that just doesn't
ring true about the little blonde's claim to be a pro. As a
former cop he knows when something is up, but he makes
himself not give a damn. But Ms. Grant has him thinking and
some of those thoughts employed a different part of his
anatomy. A part that had died with his wife ... a death he
still feels guilty over. He isn't sure he wants to heal,
wants to live ... so why get involved in the bebe's
problems?
WILDEST DREAMS is a very hot, sexy book, filled with
emotional intrigue set in the Big Easy. The emotional
upheavals are throughout the book and can be found between
the soon to be lovers, the sisters, his past life and hers.
Stephanie is very buttoned up at the beginning of the book,
but with Jake's help and her own emotional growth she
loosens up. Jake's story will bring you to tears but with
the help of Stephanie and a homeless girl who had come into
his life about the same time as Stephanie, he starts to
come to life again. I liked the way author [Toni Blake]
kept the feel of the Big Easy with Jake's use of Cajun
endearments and phrasing. One can never get enough of
hearing the language of the city. I found the beginning of
the book a little slow but once all the players got in
place it was an interesting storyline, with all the proper
happy ever after endings by the last page.
From the seductive rhythms of Bourbon Street to the sultry climes of the bayou, a woman's search for the truth leads her into danger and passion beyond her wildest dreams . . . Advertising executive Stephanie Grant knows how to sell an idea, but she's never had to sell herself before. Walking into The Big Easy's most exclusive bordello, however, she's ready to do just that. What Stephanie doesn't expect is to encounter a man who sees right through her disguise, laying bare not only what she wants, but what she needs. The lithe blonde who glides up to Jake Broussard's bar could have any man she chooses, but that isn't her endgame. The ex-cop quickly catches on to Stephanie's real plan, and it won't be long before Chez Sophia's rich and powerful clientele do the same. Stephanie's playing with fire. Good thing this hometown boy likes it hot.
