Romance
In BETTING ON THE COWBOY by Kathleen O'Brien, Brianna Wright
came to Bell River Ranch to make peace with her sister and
also hoping to forget about her life back in Boston which at
this point is a huge Mess. Grayson Harper has his sights set
on Brianna and will do just about anything to win her over.
I really enjoyed BETTING ON THE COWBOY, the story had a
great deal of emotional turmoil as Brianna faces her past.
After a humiliating end to her engagement and business in
Boston, Brianna has come home to recover and make peace with
her sister Rowena. As the ranch gets closer to its opening
as a guest ranch Brianna finds herself involved in setting
up the social programs. Gray has been hired as her temporary
assistant and has become quite the distraction.
From the
beginning of this story I wasn't too sure about Brianna's
character and I felt her struggles were just like everyone
else's but as the story progressed she grew on me a lot and
I started to like her as a character. I loved the character
of Grayson, I felt like he was sweet, charming and funny and
he did whatever was in his power to get under Brianna's skin
and
in the end it worked for him.
Both of the main characters in
this story have a deep and troubled past, Brianna had to
live with a family friend and was taught to not really show
any emotion, Grayson was raised by his grandfather who had a
very controlling attitude.
BETTING ON THE COWBOY is a story
filled with love and a lot of passion and emotion, it deals
with confronting your past and moving on when it is
necessary. I really enjoyed this book and Mrs. O'Brien did
a wonderful job with the story line and plot.
SUMMARY
No resisting this cowboy! Brianna Wright has ventured to the Bell River Ranch to make
peace with her sister. With enough time here in Colorado,
Bree might accomplish that goal and forget the mess of her
business back in Boston. Of course, none of that will happen
if she lets herself get distracted by a certain gorgeous and
charming cowboy—Grayson Harper. Really, resisting a guy as
carefree as he is should be easy for someone as responsible
as Bree. But it's clear Gray has his sights set on her, and his
determination is stronger than Bree thought! As they work
together on the ranch, she realizes there's more to Gray
than his footloose facade suggests. If that's true, he just
might win her over!
