NOBODY'S PERFECT is the fourth book in the Rescue Me
series
by Kallypso Masters. I have loved every book in this series
and this one is no different. This book brings us Damian and
Savannah's story. Both come with their own demons. Savannah
has endured so much in her life including harmful sexual
abuse by the one man who was supposed to keep her safe.
Damian must deal with what has happened to him in the war.
One time was all it took the two to make their daughter but
that one time was all that they ever thought that had but
life has other plans for them and brings these two back
together. Can Savannah escape her past with the help of
Damian or will her past catch up with her?
NOBODY'S PERFECT is an intense read. Savannah deals with so
much
that nobody should ever have to. I was glad that we get to
see Damian fight to help her and love her no matter what.
The love and trust that Savannah and Damian have for each
other shines brightly in everything that goes on between the
two. There are so many highs and lows in this story,
emotions run amok in this book. There is a lot of pain and
abuse that we learn about so readers should be aware of the
content. For me this was the most intense story that I have
read of this series.
Savannah is a strong woman and I am glad that we get to see
her begin to heal and find her happiness. I enjoyed watching
these two connect and help each other fight their demons.
Damian is a good man no matter what he thinks. He is patient
and loving to Savannah and only wants to see her healed and
happy. As hard as parts of this story are to read I still
could not put it down and was pulled in right from the start
and it did not let me go until the last page and still had
me thinking of it after I closed the book.
As with all the other books in this series the characters
are well developed and I was lost in their world. The love
between Damian and Savannah was a beautiful read. I truly
loved the scene where Damian marks Savannah as his and shows
her his heart. I wish we all had such a wonderful knight in
our lives.
SUMMARY
The continuing story of Savannah Gentry (now Savi Baker) and
Damián Orlando from Masters at Arms and Nobody's Hero.
Savannah/Savi escaped the abuse, torture, and degradation
forced upon her by a sadistic father for eleven years and
has made a safe life for herself and her daughter. When her
father threatens her peace of mind-and her daughter's
safety-Savi runs to Damián Orlando for protection. Eight
years earlier, young Savannah shared one perfect day with
Damián that changed both their young lives and resulted in a
secret she can no longer hide. But being with Damián
reawakens repressed memories and feelings she does want to
keep hidden-buried. At Damián's private Masters at Arms
Club, she discovers that sexual healing might be achieved
through sadomasochism administered by a loving Service Top
named Damián. Damián, a wounded warrior, has had his own dragons to fight
in life, but has never forgotten Savannah. He will lay down
his life to protect Savi and her daughter, but doesn't
believe he can offer more than that. She deserves a whole
man, something he can never be after a firefight in Iraq.
Damián also has turned to SM to regain control of his life
and emotions and fulfills the role of Service Top to
"bottoms" in the club in need of catharsis by whipping or
other SM practices he is skilled at delivering. But he could
never deliver that level of pain to Savi, who needs someone
gentle and loving, not the man he has become. But when Savi
witnesses a cathartic whipping scene on her first night at
the club-delivered by Damián-she begins to wonder if Damián
could also help her regain control of her life and reclaim
her sexuality and identity. The Rescue Me series should be read in order. This couple
appears in Masters at Arms (Intro & #1) and Nobody's Hero
(#3) prior to this book and by skipping books, readers will
miss major parts of their journey to their Happily Ever
After beginning.
