Romance Paranormal

Police Sergeant Carolyn Hamilton has been a solid cop for many years but has just been put on indefinite medical leave. All because she saw a man get lifted into the air to become impaled on the horns of a stuffed elk head and there was no one else in the room. Fantastic yes, but she saw it with her own eyes. Of course no one else did thus she is put on leave. She has no way of knowing that when she seeks help she will be CLAIMED BY THE IMMORTAL.

Her detective friend Pat Matthews sends her to Messenger Investigations. Jude Messenger handles the stuff that police can't. She goes to him and finds herself put into a world that she didn't see coming. Damien Keller is certainly unexpected and unsettling especially when she finds the two are vampires. Right, vampires. After what she saw she could believe there are really such things as vampires, demons, bokors, elementals ... any other surprises... oh yes ... she is a mage who quickly must learn to use powers she had hidden.

Damien was only there to help Jude with something and really should have gone back to Germany, but after meeting Caro a part of him was glad he stayed. The other part wanted to run very fast. He was always a sucker for a strong woman and this one was also beautiful and sexy and in trouble. Just what he needs and just what he wants.

CLAIMED BY THE IMMORTAL is a steamy, action packed look at vampire private investigators and the hidden world they thrive in. I enjoyed this book with the sometimes humorous dialogue among all the characters, main and secondary; the heat between Damien and Caro and the intriguing touches of black magic. I also found it fascinating the way our couple tried very hard to get "it" out of their systems only to fail miserably. It was also interesting the way author Rachel Lee added the touch of a modern human crisis as the cause for the crimes. Remarkable read for anyone who loves vampires, strong women and passion to the max.

SUMMARY

A vampire mage and a modern cop team up to battle evil magic...

When police sergeant Caro Hamilton witnesses a man being killed by an invisible assailant, she suspects a detective agency with a reputation for solving "weird cases" might be her only hope. Especially now that she senses someone has been watching her ever since she saw the murder. But when Caro walks in the door, her own uncanny skills tell her these aren't ordinary men...especially Damien Keller, who, surprisingly enough, is the first person to believe her.

Once a Persian mage, Damien is drawn to Caro in a way that no woman has ever attracted him. The magic glimmering within this mortal witch calls to his own, and the need to possess Caro drives him, until it's all-consuming. The vampire can fight it...or he can save her, teach her and damn himself.
