One More Kiss

Romance Historical

The Brent twins, Cecilia and Beatrice, have been told by their father to find respectable gentlemen to marry. When their godmother invites them to a house party, this seems the perfect opportunity for the twins to meet a potential husband. Cecilia will do her best to do as her father bid, but Beatrice is much more interested in having fun, than finding a perfect man. With the arrival of a very mysterious guest, Beatrice's plans to just have fun are put aside, and her curiosity could lead her down the aisle sooner than she imagines.

Mary Blayney writes an enthralling romance, with mystery, humor, true love, and surprises. Remarkably, Blayney writes the whole story around a two - week house party. There is never a dull moment when reading ONE MORE KISS, and many twists and unexpected secrets keep ONE MORE KISS from becoming a tedious read. The dialogue is witty and charming and the characters are enduring. Jess Pennistan is a hero readers will fall in love with from the beginning. His sense of honor and his secretive behavior make Jess a romance readers dream. Beatrice's curiosity is contagious, and readers will want to know everyone's secrets as much as her. The sub plot surrounding Destry and Cecilia is subtle yet clearly defined, and I enjoyed their story as much as Jess and Beatrice's. ONE MORE KISS is a must read, and I will be reading the rest of the Pennistan family's stories as soon as possible.

SUMMARY

Dispatched by their ambitious father to snag a titled husband, Beatrice Brent and her twin sister, Cecilia, attend a house party with an array of eligible gentlemen. Defiantly ignoring her father's wishes, Beatrice flirts shamelessly with Lord Jessup Pennistan, a gamer with scandal in his past—and the one man her father has warned her against. But when flirting goes too far, Beatrice suddenly finds herself engaged and, worse, estranged from her family. Though convinced that her fiance's wicked ways will bring nothing but heartache, Beatrice is powerless against Jess's masterful seduction and the anticipated delights of the marriage bed.

A gambling man who has lost more than his family is willing to forgive him for, Jess quickly realizes that compromising Beatrice was the best mistake he ever made. But to keep her he must right the wrongs of the past, reclaim his lost fortunes, and place the boldest wager of his life. For now he has everything to win . . . and everything to lose.

Re: A Captivating Regency Romance

I've seen Mary Blayney's name before but had never checked her books. However, I decided to read this review of her book to see if I would like her style of stories. I'm glad I did because this review has sparked my interest and I plan to go buy this book.
