I was leery about reading a contemporary romance by a man.
Can it really
be done? Well, let me tell you.......YES!!!! I loved PINK
SLIPS AND GLASS
SLIPPERS. I was instantly caught up in the characters love
and yes I'll
admit it, I want Chase as my book boyfriend!! I loved the
chemistry
between Brooke and Chase even when they were fighting!
Brooke is a
recent widow and the company she works for is bought out by
a much
bigger one. She loved her old job and hates the new one.
The CEO is so
full of himself or so she thinks but is totally hot! Oh
yeah, and he's married.
She is instantly attracted to him as he is to her. At her
friend's wedding she
is smashed and tries to get into the elevator and guess
who's arms she
falls into? Yup, Chase!!
Chase is a single Dad even though he is still married. His
wife is an addict
who took off from the family a little while after Parker was
born. Heather,
Chase's soon to be ex wife is a hot mess. She is running
with some low
life, Rusty and together they decide to kidnap Parker. They
pick him up
from the learning center that he attends. Brooke now owns
this Learning
Center. A while back, her new company, Pharmical Solutions
decided they
would out source her department and they let her go without
Chase
knowing about it. You can imagine how angry she is and after
a week of
vacation to get her head on straight, she decides to move on
when the
learning center position opens up. She decides to go head
on and buy the
business. Together, Brooke and Chase go after Rusty and
Heather and
rescue Parker.
PINK SLIPS and GLASS SLIPPERS was a very quick and funny
story. I
still can't believe it was written by a man. I laughed out
loud at many parts
of the book and found myself rooting for Brooke. She was
instantly taken
in by Parker and I just wanted her and Chase to get together
so Parker
could have a real Mommy. Chase was so clueless when it came
to Brooke
and you can't help but feel for this man. Once I started
reading PINK
SLIPS AND GLASS SLIPPERS I couldn't stop! I had to know what
was
going to happen and if they were going to find Parker. Mr.
Hansen, I hope
you continue to write romance. You really held my attention
and your story
was totally believable. I really enjoyed it.
