Romance Paranormal

MIDNIGHT'S KISS BY DONNA GRANT is a story of trust, love and faith. Dr Ronnie Reid is a well known archeologist who has a knack for finding buried artifacts. She has no idea why these items call to her, but she learned long ago not to ignore their calling. For some reason this particular site in Scotland has been calling to her the loudest that she has ever heard. Thanks to a sizeable donation from her friend Saffron, she is set for a while. But in return she agrees to let a friend of Saffron's volunteer at the site.

Everything is running along just fine, until her newest volunteer shows up. The friend of Saffron's that Ronnie agrees to take in is not what she expected. She never in her wildest dreams expected the God of a man that comes into their camp later that night. Arran is gorgeous and right from their first meeting the sparks fly. Arran is a little taken aback when he is introduced to the beautiful Dr. Ronnie Reid, by her name he is expecting a man. Of course Saffron knew that Ronnie is female and he decides that he will have a little talk with her later about not warning him. As soon as Arran got to the site the magic that surrounded him was incredible, the closer he gets to Ronnie he realizes that it is not just the site that is surrounded by magic, but Ronnie herself. He has never felt anything so good in his life and wants to wrap himself up in it all and in Ronnie. He controls himself barely, because he knows he is there for a reason. He and his Warrior brothers are hopeful that this location may hold the spell that could once again bind their Gods.

Ronnie is leery of Arran, she has had items stolen from her before by someone she trusted and thought she loved. He feelings for Arran are confusing her and intriguing her at the same time. She wants to trust him and believe him that he will not steal from her, but she has a hard time trusting anyone, except Pete and Andy. Once Ronnie finds the arch and insists that they dig until the full arch and door are revealed she will not be happy. Arran keeps warning her that somethings are better left buried, but she cannot stop. She knows there is a box buried in the earth that she has to get to, the pull of its song is so strong that it is now invading her dreams, some thing that has never happened before. Once the full door is revealed Arran talks Ronnie into waiting till the next day to open it. But she cannot sleep and figures there is no reason she cannot explore it by herself. Once inside there are several fascinating items she sees and would like to explore at greater length. Along with a tablet that she would like to have more time to decipher. But what draws her in is the box, it is begging her to open it. Before she knows it she has opened the box and has let lose these ash like creatures that are flying at her and attacking her. Luckily Arran's hearing is so acute, he hears her screams and comes to her rescue, but not before being attacked himself and having blood sucked from him. He has never seen anything like these creatures and he is at a lose as to how to fight them. He figures taking the head off would be his best bet, luckily that works. But he doesn't get them all, some escape.

Once the story moves away from the dig site and into Edinburg after the fundraiser, this is where the real action starts. The first half of the MIDNIGHT'S KISS moves a little slow, but stay with it and you will not be disappointed. There is so much action in the last half of the book, you will fly through it. I liked MIDNIGHT'S KISS, but felt that there could have been less of the dig site in the beginning . If you are fan of Ms. Grants Warriors you are going to want to read MIDNIGHT'S KISS, this book takes the Warriors and Druids of MacLeod castle in a new direction and a new evil to fight.
