Beaumaris of York owes allegiance to Lady Jayr mac Byrne,
suzeraina of Knight's Realm Stronghold, a tourist attraction
which serves as a shield to its true inhabitants, the
immortal Darkyn. When the High Lord gives him a mission
beyond the walls of the stronghold he is duty-bound to obey
no matter the cost to himself or those he honors, or the
price the intriguing and beautiful Alys Stuart must pay if
he is to keep his vow.
Dr. Alys Stuart has 30 days to find proof supporting her
unorthodox theories regarding the Knights Templar and the
Fountain of Youth. Her inherent gift of cold analysis and
conclusion has set her apart from the world and those people
within it. She finds the man appointed as overseer to
her archaeological dig that most rare of creatures, an
enigma. Beau York is a necessary evil if she is to retain
funding, but the danger he poses is more personal, a
distraction she can ill afford with her career on the line.
In NIGHTBOUND, book three in her Lords of the Darkyn
series, Lynn Viehl brings the trilogy to a stunning
conclusion. As I have come to expect, her characters are
intricate and fascinating, engaging the reader with their
many-layered personalities. The storyline itself draws from
the previous two books as well as the original series, the
Darkyn. Although the trilogy can be read as a
standalone, separate from the Darkyn novels, the
individual books within the trilogy should be read together
and in order to gain a full understanding of the plot. This
is no hardship as Viehl is a talented storyteller, always
providing a suspenseful read with a pulse-pounding end game.
Her next venture is an Urban Fantasy series with an
alternate-reality Victorian twist; Disenchanted and Company.
The first book in this new series, Her Ladyship's
Curse, is
due out in August, 2013.
Beaumaris of York has many secrets. No human can know that
he’s an immortal Darkyn assigned to Knight’s Realm, the Kyn
stronghold disguised as a medieval theme park. And none of
his brethren can discover that he’s a half-breed, rescued
from slavery as a child. Lately Beau has been yearning for
action—and he’s about to find it with his new mission.
Brilliant archaeologist Dr. Alys Stuart is infamous for her
extraordinary theories—especially those concerning the
mysterious Knights Templar—and she is unaware that her
research is funded by the Kyn coffers. When the Kyn sends a
vexingly good-looking man to assist—and protect—her, she
doesn’t expect the surge of attraction she feels for him
