Quite literally a baby did appear out of the blue, a
beautiful baby girl, and from the very first moment Fran
knew she was in love. The fact that she was unable to have
children had already contributed to the end of her first
marriage. Her husband had been aware of this problem from
the very onset of their marriage and at first the prospect
of adoption had been just fine with him. But things changed
and the marriage didn't survive. It just about broke Fran's
heart and left her with a total lack of trust in the love
and forever department. Her friend Kellie had been more fortunate marrying a Greek
god of a guy who absolutely adored his wife. Fran couldn't
help being envious of them. But Kellie's marriage was in
trouble. Being the good friend Fran agreed to a vacation in
Greece just the two friends. Fran hoped this would provide
solace for Kellie and hopefully give her friend time to
straighten out her mind and heart about her husband and
their future. However on their way Mother Nature stepped in and forever
affected both their lives.
An errand tornado, actually a few, raced through the area
leaving quite a swath of damage and tragically caused the
untimely death of several people. Two victims were the
sister and brother in law of Nik. Racing to the scene he
was unable to find their seven month old baby girl. She had
literally disappeared. And then a miracle happened in the
form of an angel, Fran, who defying all odds found the
baby in the garden where she and Kellie had waited out the
storm.
Demi was unconscious, battered and bruised from her battle
with the storm. Nik and his family were beyond happy with
this unexpected miracle. And that's how Nik and Fran
happened to meet. She was determined to stay by that baby's
side until sure Demi was going to be okay and formed a very
strong connection. Perhaps the baby substituted this soft
spoken lovely woman for her mother, or maybe it was fate
that they met in this tragic way. Fran could never imagine how this would impact her life
which was in Philadelphia far away from this magical,
beautiful country. Leaving Demi was a foregone conclusion
and each day made it all that more difficult to separate. Nik was as taken with this American as was his adorable
niece. But no matter what he did to grab her attention he
hit a brick wall. Fran was determined to not repeat the
mistakes of her past. Kellie was the voice in her head
warning her off this gorgeous man with a reputation as a
ladies' man who needed Fran for one thing, to take care of
his niece. What would it take to have this woman see that they would
make a wonderful couple and have a great future together.
Maybe they needed another small miracle of their own. Rebecca Winters story is just charming. She makes you
realize that there is nothing wrong in believing in
miracles or fate. She has created some adorable characters
that have you rooting for their happiness. Winters shows
that you can find love in some interesting places and
unusual circumstances. Believe it or not this is a feel
good story that will leave you with a smile on your face
and put Winters on your short of authors to look for.
