Romance
This is Sherryl Woods welcoming us back to Sand Castle Bay
and continue the saga of the Castle sisters and their
wonderful matchmaking grandmother. I know that this is the
story of Gabi Castle and Wade Johnson. But believe me; be
prepared to be swept away with the love story of Cora Jane
and Jerry. Cora Jane is the three sisters' grandmother who
has been a widow for some time now. Jerry has been her
husband's best friend and obviously had hidden albeit not
all that well deep feelings for Cora Jane for many years.
Now it seems they have found that they really complete each
other and after all don't they say love is lovelier the
second time around. Okay now back to this lovely story of Gabi and Wade, in
some ways it too is a second chance at love for both of
them. This is the genius of Sherryl Woods. The central
theme comes through as gently as a sigh and you are hooked.
Gabi is returning home single and pregnant. Really single
as in there is no hope with the worthless slug who
impregnated her and practically ran away. We aren't sure
Gabi had much of her heart invested in that relationship
anyway. But now back with her grandmother at Castle she is
taking her time reevaluating her choices. Doors have closed
behind her rather abruptly leaving her undecided which is
totally foreign to this woman with a highly structured
career path. Many questions are left unresolved for Gabi
including whether or not keeping the baby is the right
choice for herself and the baby. Wade should proceed more cautiously then he does in his
pursuit of Gabi. His past has definitely left him
vulnerable and yet there isn't anyone in town that doesn't
recognize how deep his feelings are for this woman he
hardly knows. And let's not forget Gabi is a package deal
complete with some other man's unborn child. But again
that's not how Wade sees it at all. His challenge is for
Gabi to see that his feelings are true and include her
entire family - which of course includes any children she
would have. You could use the argument of is there a
difference courting a woman who already has a child versus
one whose child is yet to be born. Wade has some hurdles to conquer. An important one is for
Gabi to facedown her insecurities about keeping this baby
and her future career path. And of course whether there is
a place for Wade in her future plans. Gabi and Wade are an amazing couple who instantly grab your
heart but there's no denying the challenges they will face.
But isn't life easier or better when you have someone by
your side for support and unconditional love. Maybe Gabi
should take a really close look at her grandmother. You
don't have to make life more complicated than it normally
is. Sometimes you do have to take a leap of faith or heart
and accept changes as a natural course of events in life.
And embrace them. If you haven't had the chance to read SAND CASTLE BAY, the
first in this lovely series, that's okay. Woods does a
great job of reintroducing the stars of that book. But why
miss out on a beautiful story that easily segues into WIND
CHIME POINT. Beautifully written with wonderfully witty and
warm repartee between siblings pretty much the trademark of
a Woods story.
SUMMARY
When life gets complicated, New York Times bestselling
author Sherryl Woods proves family-and love-can make all the
difference Facing a personal crisis, ambitious and driven
Gabriella Castle retreats to the welcoming arms of her
family. Everything she's worked for has been yanked out from
under her, and she seeks the serenity of her grandmother's
home on the North Carolina coast. With difficult decisions to make about her future, the last
thing she wants is an unexpected love. Wade Johnson fell for
Gabi the first time he saw her. It's not the only time he's
found himself in the role of knight in shining armor, but
Gabi isn't looking for a rescuer. To get her to stay, Wade
will need a whole lot of patience and gentle
persuasion...and maybe the soothing sound of wind chimes on
a summer breeze.
