WICKED LIES a novella by KARINA COOPER, is the story of
Jonas Stone and Danny Granger. Jonas Stone has been in
hiding since leaving his van and being taken to a safe
place that the rebellion has set up for him. We are also
filled in on what has happened to Danny after he
was taken from Parker's apartment by mission operatives.
Danny is also the grandson of the rebellion's leader May,
who is also a ghost. I am not giving away spoilers this is
all revealed in Sacrifice the Wicked.
Jonas is attracted to Danny but worries about Danny being
too young, he also worries because Danny is the ghost's
grandson and wants to make sure that nothing jeopardizes
that relationship and power that she has and that he needs
to keep his friends safe.
I have never read a sex scene
between two men and did not know what to expect. It was
written just as well as Karina's love scenes between a male
and female. The chemistry between Jonas and Danny shows
through from the first time they talk. Jonas is just a
voice in Danny's ear, but Jonas has been able to see Danny
for the past 3 days threw a feed he used to hack into the
cell Danny has been held in for the last week. Danny wants
to make sure that Jonas is not able to see the condition
that he is in and in usual Jonas style he makes sure that
Danny is comfortable talking to him so Jonas can get him
out without anyone seeing him and hopefully not injured
anymore that what he already is. So he tells Danny what he
knows will make him comfortable and able to trust him.
Danny has to break through Jonas's tough emotional armor
that he has wrapped around himself and has never allowed
another
male to penetrate.
WICKED LIES introduces us to a new and
growing relationship that needed to be told, but would make
a book too long. I am glad that KARINA COOPER wrote WICKED
LIES because it gives us a better view into the character
of Jonas.
Jonas Stone has been given his first independent operation:
rescue the insurrection leader’s imprisoned grandson from
the Mission. Getting the job done means more than getting
Danny Granger out-it means staying with him while he heals.
Staying too close, for way too long.
Danny is everything Jonas isn’t: confident, optimistic,
honest--a man to be reckoned with. If only it didn’t mean
going against everything Jonas has planned. He’s kept his
secrets for years, hid behind a mask no one could see
through...until now. Danny isn’t the kind of man Jonas
deserves. But he might be exactly the man he needs...
