Paranormal Romance | Romance

Zach is a different kind of shifter, he's a horse shifter, who must have been feral for awhile, RUNNING FREE, because he has amnesia. Despite that he finds himself the guardian of a wolf shifter pup, named Storm. He is willing to kill to protect this boy and has. That has gotten the attention of the Wolf Town alpha.

Sally, had been rescued by the shifters of Wolf Town, after having been traumatized by shifters who thought her being a lone wolf meant they could do with her as they wished. She preferred to keep to herself, but when the alpha asks her to check out the situation of the boy and Zach, she agrees. All she has to do is set up shop and teach piano to the students of Storm's school and check out what Storm's lifestyle was like. In a couple of months she'd be back home safe and sound. Little does she know that her heart would be caught by not only the little wolf pup but also by Zach.

When it's found out that she is from Wolf Town, Zach is furious as are Storm's grandparents who are not shifters and have always feared losing their grandson to the shifters. Added to the problems that are suddenly at Zach's door is the fact that his brother is looking for him and because of his still foggy memories he's afraid to see him. He's afraid that if the shifters know his past they will take the boy that means the world to him. Can it be possible to trust the shifters of Wolf Town? Can he trust Sally with his heart? Will he be able to protect the three of them from the non-town shifters who are drawn not only to Storm but now to Sally?

RUNNING FREE is a complex paranormal that is fast paced with a lot of action and emotional turmoil that lets readers watch a couple of broken shifters find love and acceptance. The author [Jorrie Spencer] put together a compelling storyline that lets readers have enough background on who is who without unnecessary verbiage that could have bogged down the pace. I look forward to more thrilling books by this author.

SUMMARY

She is the one wolf who can tame his feral spirit.

A Northern Shifters Story

A year and a half ago, if someone had told Zach that he’d be guardian to the creature he distrusts most—a wolf shifter—he’d have laughed. A half-broken horse shifter as father figure? No way.

Now, he’d kill to protect the pup he found lost in the woods—and he has. Which, unfortunately, has attracted the attention of Wolf Town’s alpha.

Sally prefers to keep a low profile among her fellow shifters in Wolf Town. Yet when she’s asked to investigate a pup living outside the safety of the pack, she can’t bring herself to refuse.

From the moment Zach meets the new piano teacher, his world tilts. Her scent gets under his skin. Her touch retrieves missing pieces of his memory. But even as their blazing attraction flares out of control, trust is the hardest to give, and the one thing they both need if they’re to save the boy from another attack.

Warning: This book contains violence and sex, though not at the same time. Be advised, the protective shifters may cause you to want to move to Wolf Town.
