Leaving Tiffany's in N.Y. with his daughter, 8 year old
Daisy, in tow along with a newly purchased $20,000 diamond
solitaire, Ethan Greene is on the cusp of proposing to his
girlfriend, Vanessa. The three have traveled from their
home in London, with Ethan expecting the surprise proposal
to be a Christmas gift. Daisy's deceased mother always told
her the greatest gift of love came from Tiffany's. Gary
Knowles has also visited Tiffany's after buying his
girlfriend Rachel a last minute gift; a charm bracelet for
Christmas. Except for a taxi hitting Gary and Ethan
assisting at the sight with CPR, everything might have gone
according to both of their plans.
As Rachel is waiting for Gary to be released from the
hospital to return home to Dublin, her interest is peaked at
discovering the famously known little blue box from
Tiffany's found among Gary's packages from the day he was
injured. Instead of the intended bracelet, a solitaire is
found instilling excitement at the knowledge he is going to
propose. Likewise, when Vanessa opens the box with a
bracelet, Daisy and Ethan are completely baffled. Everyone
returns home before realizing how the switch occurred, and
forcing Gary to feel he has to propose. This is the
beginning of uncovering the events of that day and Ethan
going to Ireland to find his ring. With both women being
kept in the dark, the lies and secrets begin to mount,
showing Gary's true colors when he finally, in a drunken
stupor, admits his deceit to Rachel's friend and partner,
Terri. Terri's interference at helping Ethan recover his
ring is to spare the lovely Rachel heartbreak, but backfires
in the worst way possible. Daisy believes fate has played a
part in their lives and Rachel is "the one" for her father.
But.....fate does not always come as expected or wanted!
This is a very delightful and intriguing tale of fate
changing the lives of two couples and an adorable child who
wants a family of her own. An unfortunate accident in N.Y.
switching 2 little blue boxes changes lives and helps those
involved to re-evaluate what they want. A GIFT FROM
TIFFANY's is such a beautiful and nostalgic story of love
and fate! I could not put this book down until I had turned
the final page! Melissa Hill is an author with a rare
talent of transferring the character's emotions to the
reader. Expect a real twist at the end. I truly loved this
story which left me with a heartwarming and loving feeling.
My interest is peaked now and I will definitely read more
from this author.
