NIGHT OF THE TIGER really begins five thousand years ago
when the Lady of the Beasts and her warriors fought an epic
battle against Hades and his demons from hell in a
desperate attempt to protect the world and their Lady. When
the end was close and there were too many for them to
defeat the Lady using her remaining strength, cast a spell
on her warriors. They were frozen in their shifter form and
only a woman could break the curse for each of them.
Aimee Horner leads a quiet life, a bit of a hermit, due to
the scars she bears from the accident that had killed her
parents and almost herself. She a graphic novel illustrator
and lately she's worried that the job is getting to be much
too vivid. She's having terrible frightening dreams about
demons and hell, but intermixed are dreams of a white tiger
that fill her with peace and rather erotic dreams
concerning a handsome man with white and black hair. One
evening against her better wishes she accompanies her one
friend the gorgeous Sandra to the carnival that sits on the
outskirts of town. After a short time she loses sight of
Sandra and rather strangely finds herself in an empty
carnival, but before she starts walking home she is drawn
to go inside a tent that holds the most gorgeous carousel
she has ever seen. Knowing she should head home, she is
unable to leave without looking more closely at the
lifelike animals there. Plaques name the missing animals; a
serpent, jaguar and a Phoenix but still there is a lion, a
wolf, and a beautiful white tiger. On an unnamed urge Aimee
climbs on the back of the tiger and immediately a bell
rings and the carousel starts to whirl... faster and faster
until the world turns black and silent. When Aimee awakes
she finds out that it hadn't been a dream or nightmare
after all.
Roric is the handsome man in her dreams and the white tiger
from the carousel. She has freed him from the spell and he
is on a mission. He will survive the next 24 hours for if
the demons beat him his soul and Aimee's will be Hades to
do as he wishes; he will find the remaining warriors and
free them and then they will go into hell and free their
Lady. He doesn't have time for any kind of feelings for the
woman who rescued him. He has his duty to perform. But with
every moment he spends with Aimee, his heart slowly becomes
hers.
THE NIGHT OF THE TIGER is an amazingly different
paranormal, with its mixture of Gods from Olympus, demons
from hell, warrior shifters and a shy graphic artist. It is
wildly exciting that the author, N.J. Walters, was able to
take all these elements and carve out a well written,
mysterious storyline that will keep you reading and looking
for more.
Aimee Horner lives and breathes her career as a graphic
novel illustrator, but she never expected it would invade
her dreams. In recent months, worsening nightmares have
pulled her into the darkest corners of Hell.
On a rare night out with friends at a traveling carnival,
she finds herself strangely drawn to an abandoned carousel
adorned with vividly exotic animals. One steed, a massive
white tiger, is a temptation she can’t resist. The moment
she climbs upon him, her world changes forever.
More than five thousand years ago, Roric and his fellow
shapeshifting warriors were imprisoned in their animal
forms, a last-ditch effort by the goddess they served to
save them from the horrors of Hell.
With one special woman’s touch, he has a chance at freedom
and redemption—but the clock is ticking. If he is still
alive in twenty-four hours, the spell will be broken, and
Hell will have no claim on his soul. The only hitch is his
blazing attraction to Aimee. If only he could trust that
she isn’t merely a distraction sent by Hades—luscious bait
to lure him from his mission.
