Wake up next to gorgeous model girlfriend; get up whenever
over hangover; drink coffee and wake up; go to casting call
for a vacation brochure wearing laundry day boxers -- just
another day in the life of model Charlie Barrett.
After making a career of modeling cigarettes and
advertising trips, Charlie is ready to settle down with a
more grown-up job. His opportunity comes quickly with the
hot new website 2cool2btrue.com. Worried that he may
not have another chance somewhere else, he takes the
unusual job of buying luxury items and going out for
coffee, courtesy of 2cool.
But there are secrets behind the website. When the owners
vanish, Charlie must figure out a way to pay the bills.
With his relationship faltering, the website under
investigation and no way to fix it, Charlie has to find a
way to make amends. Stuck with Nora, a clumsy reporter, the
two learn disturbing secrets about 2cool and
society.
Brooke's endearing characters and imaginative plotlines
create the perfect story for men or women. The plot kept me
engaged the whole way through, and I genuinely liked the
relationships between the characters. It was also
interesting to find out what it would be like to be a
model. Although I know it's fiction, Brooke had to get his
information from somewhere. This isn't your everyday lad
lit. There's something for everyone -- action, romance,
mystery and humor -- in this book.
Charlie Barrett, male model extraordinaire, is ready for a
career change. It's not that ten years of modeling haven't
been fun: the Paris shows, the nightclub guest lists, the
fabulous apartment and even more fabulous model girlfriend.
But, at 33, advertisements for comfy cardigans and the
La-Z-Boys loom large in Charlie's future. It's time for him
to find a job that offers more challenge than tilting your
head left or right on command. So when a chance meeting
results in Charlie being offered the job as the face of
2cool2btrue, he readily accepts. 2cool is the web equivalent
of Armani, Prada and Gucci; the sexiest thing in cyberspace
and everyone wants a piece of it. As their marketing guru,
Charlie's days are spent flicking through magazines looking
for luxury products for the website to endorse, his nights a
whirl of launch parties and champagne. But then things start
to go wrong. 2cool's owners disappear... and so does a large
amount of money. With his relationship on the rocks, Charlie
turns to his old modeling pals for support and finds none of
them wants to help a man under investigation for fraud,
particularly one labeled "Pretty Boy" by the Police... What
is a boy to do?
